JB4 question

After the winter I am planning on installing a JB4 in my 335i.
My question is what other mods should I do to support the extra power and strain on the motor and other parts of the car.
I am new to modding so just "pretend" you are talking to a 4 year old. haha
thanks.

Down pipes, maybe charge pipe . Plastic stock ones tend to crack under high boost. Drop in air filter. Then of course the exhaust

You dont need any other mods, but these mods can help give you a boost in power.

Upgraded intercooler
catless downpipes
an intake system
catback exhaust

charge pipe only if your oem one pops off or you want a bov/meth bung.

Key is deciding how far you want to take the car in modifying it. Mine is a light mod JB4 G5/ISO & an FMIC for the summer sun in Carolina. Others want more power so the next step would be downpipes then meth injection.

Map 1 & Map5 need nothing other then plugging in the JB4.

You dont "need" any more modifications but if you want to extract more power you should start with an intake and intercooler. Catless downpipes would also be on that list.

The intake will help the turbo's breathe better and run more efficiently.

Downpipes and or intercooler will allow you to run more powerful maps.

Otherwise a stock vehicle should run map 1 or autotune map 5. I usually suggest map 5 as it will auto learn and adapt boost accordingly.

Map 2 is only if you have atleast catless downpipes.

Appreciate all the input. I was just making sure only the jb4 plug in wouldnt cause issues.
I want somewhat of a lignt mod. Not looking at meth injection but definitely oil cooler and a few others.
I have an afe intake but it almost looks like its vacuuming in both the cones a little. They almost look a little crushed. Any ideas?

very common problem. shouldnt really affect performance.just try to tighten as much as possible without crushing it more.
