I might be interested in the rears.

I'm looking to change car soon and would rather avoid spending full price for 2 new tyres.

Depending on the price and condition I might be interested.

I won't be interested if there is any damage, repairs or the tread is lower than anticipated.

Forgot to mention if i do end up selling i'd prefer a singly buyer for all 4. If not much interest then i will split

Ok i'll try and get tread depths from the dealer tomorrow. Tyres are from a car being sold to me by a bmw dealership, so tyres should be ok

No problem.

You might struggle though as many people either ditch runflats or only buy a pair as they match the other two.

Once they are off the rims give them a good inspection and post some pictures.

Obviously someone that wants all 4 can have first dibs, if not we will see where we are.

Sure, if no interest then will split for you if the tyres are suitable.

Ideally i wanted to sell the tyres first and then buy the new ones so will be tricky taking pictures of them off. By the way would a bmw dealership be that stingy and really sell a car with damaged/repaired tyres? Im probably missing something here though.

Your dealer may well sell a car with tyres that have had puncture repairs, firstly they may not even know and secondly there is nothing wrong with doing that. Some people don't mind repairs, others don't want them. They would for sure reduce the price of a set of tyres if there have been puncture repairs.

When selling you need to give tread depths on outside, middle and inside of tyre as these Bridgestones can easily have 5mm on centre and be illegal on the edges due to uneven wear. Thats something to have a real good look at before you take the car as the dealer may well pass them off to you to save a bit of cash, they won't let a car go out with illegal tread but 2.5-3mm will pass their scrutiny no problem.

Got an email from the salesman quoting:

Tyre report;
N/S/F 8mm 8mm 7mm
O/S/F 7mm 7mm 8mm
O/S/R 7mm 8mm 8mm
N/S/R 8mm 8mm 7mm

He also confirmed no repairs on any tyre. Is that sufficient for you guys? Sorry haven't sold tyres before!

How many miles are on the car you are buying?

8mm is what a new tyre comes with,so those tyres are very newish.
There's nothing wrong with a repaired runflat,I ran one for at least 5k with no problems.

You should get a pretty penny for those,if not on here, the Bay is where to go

Its done 36k so if the tread is right they must have been replaced recently. Surely you guys would trust an email from a bmw salesman? Or is it worse than i thought and i should wait and measure them?

Yes i would like to get a good amount, looking to get some conti 5ps on asap

Not really sure but from seeing other peoples comments i suppose it would be a decent amount. Are you interested in all 4?

BimmerW - considering the prices on the links hotcoupe kindly provided, and my fronts are more or less equal (prob a mm more) and the rears are 2mm more, what could you offer me? I can drop them off to you in Northampton included in your offer if you decide to make one

I would be interested in the rears if no one else takes them, but due to my location I would need them posted if you willing to do this.

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Hmm - I had a look at those links posted.

Agreed these are worth a good amount, but I don't want to thread spoil or something, those are "high end" when I have had another look.

However, I was only curious to know how much a set would be as I have a set with non-runflats on a set of 19" alloy wheels, which may need replacing in a few months. So thought I'd ask.

If we are going by the links shown then I'm sorry I shall withdraw my interest as I am not in urgent need or anything.

Thanks!

There was brand new ones on eBay for £250 each, from a recognised tyre dealer for a while.

There has been the same pairs of runflats on there for months.

There is more money to be made on eBay selling them than here though. Prices are less here and struggle to sell runflat.

The tread depths do sound very good. Odd to have the perfect 8mm and 7mm elsewhere.

With those depths you will get a really good price, sadly I won't go anywhere near £400 for a pair.

Recently i did buy a pair off eBay but had to send them back as they weren't as described but that wasn't to be known at the time of bidding. 6mm tread cost £200 for the pair.

Why are you so keen to sell if you don't even have the car yet?

It certainly wasn't by design,I just picked the first pair in both the correct sizes I came across.

The links were purely as a guide, and it's up to the OP and a potential buyer to come to some agreement on the worth of the tyres.

Ok so i should be getting the 335D on Saturday, weather permitting! I will confirm the tread depth which im hoping will be exactly as the salesman stated.

Anyone interested in all 4? Price wise i've seen them for £970-£100 (black circles and love tyres) brand new. £700 on eBay (links above) which are around 1-2mm more worn than the tread i have been given for mine
