US Airways Presents Merger Deal to American

Will be interesting to see the future combined fleet type(s). AA being Boeing and US being a mix of Airbus and Boeing. One could argue that AA is also McDonnell Douglas I suppose.

Perhaps I am getting ahead of myself as this is far from a done deal atm.

US Air is a crappy operation from a flyer's perspective, and AA isn't much better. So the combined company is likely to just be a bigger pile of stinky poo.

Nothing will happen really. The miles/points will still be just as good after the merger and your status actually might improve since it will be based on 2 airlines (once the FF programs are combined and before the two airlines operate as one).
