I guess the plugs were nearing the end of their lifespan & that running Stage 2+ on the ride home kinda just accelerated their death. Was just really caught off guard that it worked the whole 2 hr car ride home after install & then an hr later the car misfires.

Sorry to turn this into the "Eric's Sob Story" thread, but I wanted to confirm that it's something like the plugs. I flashed from Stage 2+ Sport down to Stage 0 and took the car for a drive. Little highway & back country road, I only got 2 fault codes back:

• P2C7F - Lambda Probe after catalytic converter 2, trimming control
• P2C6A - Lambda Probe after catalytic reversed

Both are related to the cats, which isn't much of a surprise since I'm running Stage 0 w/ catless DPs.

Benzy change your coil packs and plugs. Then clear all the codes and try again.

You're having misfires, it happens.

Swinging by VAC today to pick up some plugs, rain doesn't seem like it's gonna clear up so I guess I'll find out tomorrow if that's all that needs to be replaced

I was getting the same thing you were earlier, with all the codes.

I had my VRSF downpipes, BMS DCI and ETS 5" FMIC installed. The tech took it for a loop around the shop and it was fine. I went out, started it up for a test drive, idled for a moment while I talked with them and then it started stumbling and throwing codes.

I read up and saw the plugs were likely culprit. I had 44k on the car on original plugs(I just bought it two months ago) so we ordered up some plugs locally. I kept looking though and saw the posts about the O2 sensors being backwards.

We threw it up on the lift and sure enough, two of the sensors were wrong. This shop was not a BMW specific tuning shop, but the tech had done 3 sets of downpipes on 335i's before and this was the first time he messed up the plugs. He was pretty pissed at himself lol. But it seems an easy mistake to make.

We went ahead and replaced the plugs cause, well, it's due. But I think you need to check the sensors on the downpipes.

Thinking one of the sensors got fried during uninstall/install, if it keeps showing after the plugs are replaced I'm gonna target that 1st instead of ignition coils

Mine weren't fried, just connected backwards. They have to be correct for pro/post cat area(even though there is no cat) and also for the right pipe. Switch them around and stuff goes crazy.

I don't throw any codes about cat inefficiency on mine once we fixed it, even if it is catless.

I'm just saying, do a visual inspection to make sure they're not connected to the wrong holes. The length of the wires would easily allow you to do it incorrectly.

Well misfires = plugs have to be replaced. I'll investigate if the sensors are switched tomorrow. Would be a nice treat if that's all it was + I can save some money (instead of buying a new o2 sensor for a catless car )

Misfires have also been reported with new plugs, due to the faulty injectors.

Here's to hoping it's just plugs. THe injectors are gross money (unless you're still under warranty). They can tell if the injectors are the faulty ones by just looking at the serial number.

I just got my Cobb and really confused with the tunes. There's 2 of each tune to choose from? Like 2 stage 1 aggressive. What's the difference? And what is the general consensus on which tune to use stock with dci?

Starting by finding out which ROM you're using. From there you decide which stage tune you want to use. W/ the DCI you can only run Stage 1 maps, so then you'll decide to either use Drive, Sport or Aggressive (requires 93 octane). After you decide which one you want from there, you decide the throttle mapping. Most people use Stock, others use Linear, and MT people sometimes use Alternative.

Add the map to your AP, flash your DME & enjoy

Got my cobb installed today, its a really wet day here so couldn't put much power down without wheel spin. But it feels great so far. Whats everyones favorite throttle map to use? Stock or linear or one of the alternatives.

Linear. Try them all and pick the one that fits best your needs.
