So went to put my winter wheels and tires on yesterday and couldn't get the back left wheel lock off. So today at the shop i have out head mechanic give it a shot. Wont budge. Last time they were off was at Tread City Tire a couple months ago. I told the guy putting them back on 80 Ft lbs with a torque wrench. He must not have listened.... So now we had to cut and drill the mother fucker out. Wheel lock set is now shot, wheel is gouged from the air chisel and I'm pissed. My rant for the day, I will be going to see them at TCT soon.

Anyone near Buffalo with a rear wheel bearing tool they can lend me? I'll get you a case of beer or bottle of booze for your trouble. Please let me know.

Thanks

When we had to do one at the shop we made one up out of scrap parts. Basically a big socket (to push the bearing out) a long threaded rod with the right size nuts to keep putting pressure on the socket. It worked okay, not the best but its an idea if you decide to make something up. I looked earlier ours is gone believe the rod broke needed to get a bigger one.

Make sure you put the bearing in the right way. We had a car come that was at another shop and they put the bearing in backwards.

Thanks for the heads up.

The correct tool is like $250! I could have the job done for that kind of scratch.

Anyone from Buffalo here have a black 335i coupe? I see one all the time when I am running up Park and maybe the same car in N buff on Crecent.

Edit, I scrolled up, looks like that might be e60holics car.

Tennis ball is the stopping point, i need to change it again (moved the tool box so i have a bunch more room to pull forwards) I think this time im going to make it line up so when i get the car in the right way it touches the inspection sticker. So i know im up far enough and over enough

I was on the fence with the grills but they tie in with the red wheels very nicely.

Tennis ball works great!
It's easy to make!
I think Griots garage sells them for like $20 which is stupid cause you can make it for less than that!!!
Lazy people!

Mine didnt cost me a dime. Old tennis ball, one screw with finish washer to hold into ceiling, string, and a screw in hook for the ball. My friends call me ghetto because i didnt get the laser attachment for my garage door opener but screw em.
