I'm interested but don't know if I'm pre march 09 build or march 09 as car was registered in you guessed it march 09. Things I do know is it's an e92 and I live in Bristol. I would pm but not allowed to yet as I've been lurking a couple of months but only just joined

I'm too located in Bristol, Sytner newport is the closest sytner dealer. I might go there myself.

righto, i'm going to add my name to this on the assumption that i can cancel the 'fitting' part, or defer it to another time?

I think i will need to pick up the kit and then depending on where i am in the country go to which ever dealer happens to be easiest at the time.. currently i am swinging between wales and farnborough..

any issues with that?

I have had problems. Both my subs now make a clicking/tapping noise if listening to full sounded music (not even "doof doof"). I can't listen to "The Bloody Beetroots" at anything higher than moderate volume any more as the speakers tap. Even nice full sounding jazz music makes tapping noises from the double bass etc.. BMW ordered a new sub (drivers side.. its worse than the passenger side and they didnt believe me when i told them it was on both sides, EVEN after I demonstrated the problem by playing around with balance/fader etc.) thinking that there was a problem with the original one but it still didn't fix the problem. They then tried to place the blame on me saying that it was poor quality music on my iPod because they assumed i just ripped stuff off the internet. I played the original CD and it still tapped, I played the radio and it tapped. So now my car is booked in again and this time they say they will keep the car until they can figure out what the problem is.

Sorry to put a dampener on things, but atm I can't even listen to the stereo as loud as i could with the base stock system. It does sound good though and for this price it is well worth it.

EDIT - also note, it has been two months since i had the Alpine system installed, but my problem is not yet solved hence my disappointment.

SBC - I hope they get it sorted.

BGM - I'll need to know what you want to do when we process the orders... fit/collect/arrange own delivery. Fitting can be cancelled, but as this is a limited offer it can't be added at a later time. PM me if you have any other queries.

daz205 - I've sent you a PM with my details and will check the compatibility for you. As said above, I'll need to know what you'll be requiring before we process your order.

There's nothing wrong with the Alpine kit as I have it in E90 which I fitted myself (a very tedious process and me took ages) and the quality is superb. Its not clicking and no interference, so if I can get it right (not a mechanic) then it sounds like either have a fitting problem (earth???) or it could a faulty component, think you need to seek advise in the technical section.

Edit - just saw Anneka's post!

SBC, I'm glad that BMW are trying to sort this out for you, which is what any dealership would do. I'm sure that they will find the cause of the issue with your install and that you'll enjoy this fantastic product as so many thousands have before you .

Is this the same as the business hifi or is it better? Also, what is the next best subwoofer?

Here is a quote from my local dealer just so that you can see what a good offer this is.

Hi-fi upgrade for your vehicle is approx £717.28 inc vat.
(£301.45+ vat for parts and £309+vat labour)

Ouch! I'll have two.
