I'm wondering which intake and/or ram-scoopy-swoopy thing yields the most frontal airflow coming from the front of the car.

A likely winner would be one that steals air from blowing into the radiator (bad to a point) using a scoop that is plumbed to a high flow intake. That is, without engine compartment air entering. Dont think I've read about a set up like this though. If there is one, please chime in.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Personally I have the aFe intake with the Swoop scoops and have been very pleased with the results.

I have the Ultimate Racing CAI intake that takes air from the brake duct down below. I removed the plastic piece that covers half the lower grill on the front left of the car and air just shoots straight to the filter.

This sounds good. I'd rather that air go to the intake than the brake, while not taking from the radiator. I'll look into it. Thanks.

You actually are not stealing any air from the brake, that duct remains intact. But the other half of the grille has a blocking plate that can be removed to allow air in. In pics below the brake duct is to the right of the plate as viewed from behind the bumper. My 335 is a coupe and the grille is already cut out from the factory, for a sedan you may have to Exacto the grille

Have not had time for dynos, closest one is about an hour away and I have a busy travel schedule

If you notice in the pic, the filter sits a little higher than the opening so I am not too worried about water. To hydrolock you would have to almost submerge the filter under water, and at that point you would have larger issues.......

Thanks for the advice and pics Bill. I'll have to look at my sedan to see what room I have there to let the air in. The piping sure does look nice though.

OK, but I have not seen a dual cone intake that draws in cold air only; without engine bay heat. Is there one or a combination of parts to build this? It would be an ideal set up I think.

Engine heat really doesent mean anything to turbo cars because the turbos superheat the air anyways

^^ but unfortunately many ppl can't believe that is true hunter hahaha. intake air temp don't matter for turbo cars. do 1000hp supras use cai? no cuz it's all about the bigger ic !!!!!! only naturally aspirated engines benefit from cai. oh yeah do 1000hp supras use a heat shield like afe? hahA no. they all use huge filters with larger surface area. bms dual cone ftw and price.

I had my TL CAI at similar location and when there was a big puddle on the road sometimes the intake sucks up the water and i been getting hot A/C air and some smoke unti the intake drys up. Might want to becarful about driving in storm condition rains.

Well, thanks for the advice guys. I agree with your rationale on this. The BMS dual cone intake is now in order. I guess Terry does have this stuff figured out.

You can just make one yourself. Look at the DIY. I have 2 large K&N filters on mine, and I love it. Dual Cone FTW!

The price of getting 2 SB or KN Filters like that and high-heat resistant couplers alone will cost u more than 3/4 the price of BMS...Terry's markup margin on his products are enough to justify buying his stuff and saves you the trip from finding/ordering these parts separately to fit perfectly...
