Mark Your Item Sold

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
As a favor to all of us, it would be great if you would change your thread title from "FS" to "SOLD" if an item is sold. I (and I'm sure others) waste a lot of time looking at SOLD items and it slows me down finding sellers / items that are still looking to sell their item. We'll all be able to do more business if we follow that standard.

Many sellers change / delete the original post to show SOLD, but not the TITLE. Some just reply to their own thread with SOLD, but this doesn't help as much since it's at the bottom. What would be best is if you would keep the original thread and update it to show SOLD for $XXX so we can get some data on current market prices.

For example, there are tons of COBB threads, but not many are still for sale. You have to open them up to see which are available, and most of those that are sold don't say how much they sold for, so people bash threads saying you're asking too much.

we can't if i recall correctly, unless you've learned a new trick. i always change my ads first post..but--interesting theory and suggestion, but however unlike other websites, clicking our fs ad's will not let us change our titles, we can only close it. i started a suggestion thread in the tri-state, add to it if you please. if you're having trouble, just look for a red X next to the thread title. cheers

Actually if you click edit on the OP and then go advanced you can change the title. It's just not on the quick edit page. You can also close the thread so others can't post to it anymore.

IIRC, you can only edit the TITLE within the first 24 hours you made the post

You cannot edit if afterwards; unless they've changed the rules recently.

Closing is a great way to do it, but you can only close threads on some parts of the forum.
You cannot do it on m3post FS section, but you can on e90post

this is my experience as well - titles don't update after the first day or so

Damn - Would be nice if they would open this up so we could keep things cleaner. I could have sworn on my posts I have edited the title multiple days later...

I hate looking through items only to find out they're sold

Hey guys, i recently noticed that you CAN change the actual title as its displayed in the forum, not just by going to edit > advanced > and change it there, because it does NOT always change depending on how long you've had the tread open for if I am not mistaken. But I have noticed a few days ago that when you're on the forum where all the threads are listed, you can double click NEXT TO your thread, not on the actual text of your thread, and it will allow you to edit how it is displayed.
