Ran out of gas Engine Damage?
Hey guys, so today I was driving but was not able to find a gas station for a long time. I was stopped at a light and my engine started sputtering out but did not die out.
I eventually found a gas station and filled up; however, now when I start my car and drive it, it still sputters and sounds weird. Could I have caused engine damage or damage to the fuel pump by running out of gas? (My engine did not die out but did start sputtering from lack of gas) |

No, except usually a recommendation that if you do, change the fuel filter as it can pick up sediment. However with the N54, that also requires changing the fuel pump too, which blows (pricey). So probably just leave alone.

This is why I personally never let my range fall below 50 km remaining - taking in air is not something any fuel pump likes, let alone muck from the bottom of the fuel tank...
Hope you manage to get this sorted out! |
