yellow engine light

hello

i have owned my 320 se for three weeks now.

the other day i was driving slow in 2nd gear and the car shuddered. it may have needed 1st gear but im not sure. the yellow engine light came on, but as soon as i accelerated the car was fine and light went off. the light must have been on for a few seconds

my question is that is there something wrong or could it have been that the car didnt have enough power and needed changing gear which is why the light came on.

don't know what to do!

I have had the exact same scenario happen to me several times (but on AT) ... is it the way im driving? The light usually goes away after several start ups.

Seriously though, if you want to swing by the dealer assuming you are under warranty, they can check for faults.
If it hasn't happened more than once, and doesn't do it again, i wouldn't worry about it. What you describe could be anything.

I'd get it checked out. The light doesn't just go on by magic. I'd suspect it's fairly minor though... for now... like a very small vacuum leak or something. Whatever it is, it will probably get worse over time.
