Maybe you can just use a jeweler as a resource to find a gynecologist if they are not able to properly appraise it. They may be able to point you in the right direction.

All pearls aren't necessarily round. Depends on where they were grown.

Apparently Fresh water pearls hold a lower value because 9 times out of 10 they're farmed.

Salt water pearls are more valuable and expensive...
