Wink Intro + Future Headers?

Hey everyone been lurking on these forums for a while now. Decided I should share a little progress. Had the car for about 6 months and love it. I have a resonator/muffler delete with a BMS powerbox tune and the questionable addition of some RPI air scoops (not shown in pictures). Love the exhaust tone although its a little raspy in the mid rpm range but the pitch and volume is perfect for me.

My question is about the addition of headers. Car is still on warranty, but will be out in about half a year or so and am looking to either upgrade to a F30 or atleast run this into the ground for the time I have it. So the ideas of getting headers to make this thing a little more batshit has been toying on my mind. Are AA Headers really the only option for the N52? Would love for a slightly cheaper if not as well built option. Whats your opinions?

Hope you guys enjoy.

AA is the cheapest option.
The other popular options for headers are supersprint (expensive) and AFE high flow catted headers. If you are in CA and are concerned about emissions, you might need to go with AFE.

I don't know what your budget is but the AA headers are a good bang for your buck headers in the realm of n52/n51 headers. Supersprint headers like all their other products are a very nice and the price reflects that. AFE is also a good header option for our cars as well but they also cost more than the AA but make less power. However u can just run the test pipes with them and that'll even the score in terms of power. The cheapest headers out there for our cars I would say is probably MMW and they aren't in production anymore so you would have to find a used set. But just the appearance of those welds and how thin the pipes look is enough for me to not even think about putting them on my car even if they were free.

As for the noise I can't give a testimony for the any of the options other than the AA headers. When paired with the PE it's obnoxious loud in the morning or whenever it's cold but once warmed up the noise level and pitch is intoxicating.

Welcome!

The only thing questionable about your mods is the powerbox

Anyways, AA is the best bang for the buck. I have them coupled with the PE and its rather loud.

Thanks for the replies. Seems AA is the way to go. Ill look into them, perhaps an exhaust video with the headers in the future?

AA headers are good value but you're in CA so visual inspection will cause you to fail inspection, I think. Have you checked on this?
