335d ECU RE-MAP

I am trying to find a tuner stateside that can re-program my 335d and am having zero luck. There are dozens in the UK boasting of 340 hp and well over 500 ft lbs all while improving economy but I want to patronize a US tuner if any exist. Thanks in advance.

Probably not the answer you want but one of the best UK Tuners is Evolve Automotive, they sponser the UK section on here. They can actually send you one of their "Switch" units which allows you to upload a tuned map your car and then take the tune off and put it back to standard as and when you wish (service time etc).

If this is any good then give them a call or pm/email them. Failing that then I am sure there will be some US tuners offering remaps for the 335d soon.

Jules.

Why on earth would you want a USA Map when the likes of DMS and Evolve offer the quickest maps going in your own country.

He is located in the USA.......

Another thread also mentions that a different version of software is used on the US version of the 335d, however Evolve aren't far off having this sorted.

Do the UK 335's have catalyists. That would be the only difference I can think of that would impact tuning.I have no goverment inspections to worry with so I am going to modify the exhaust[remove cats] and look into cai.Theres alot of arrogant M-3 owners stateside whom have a rude awkening coming from the diesel camp. My friends in the UK have much more experiance modding this setup.Your feedback is appreciated.

I thought you were in Brum mate UK?

Sorry.

Yes you do have a far more restrictive exhaust i Believe of DPF as you have stricter emmissions and only 265HP stock compared to our 286.

How are you finding the 335d mate?

The US market has opened up availability several months ago. The only thing shipped over here were stripped models. I special ordered in early June with everything except navi and see today it landed in Brunswick, Ga. Nobody here stateside knows just how strong diesels can be and it is my hope to slam more than a few arrogant M-3 owners. Therefore any suggestions performance wise are greatfully appreciated.Do UK cars have catalyist? If they do I may run a UK tune as I plan to remove the cats.Plus our insurance is figured by how many tickets on your record not how many hp you have. The yank version is rated @ 286 hp 428ft lbs torque. Thanks AL

Congrats on the purchase.

We have a few beta testers lined up in the USA. The US spec 335d has a completely new type of ECU which no one can tune at the moment. A solution is being worked on at the moment and our switchable mapping unit should then be available.

You are correct. US spec 335d puts out 265hp @ 4200 rpm. Do UK versions of the 335d have catalyist in the exhaust system. Also have you come across a cold air intake.

Chip Express said their system will work and Upsolute in NC said they can re-flash the US 335d. I think I'll wait for Evolve.

Have you wondered what it will sound like without the cats?

I have every intention of running as close to a straight pipe as I can. After the exhaust goes through the turbos and the pdf filter the sound should be quiet enough for everyday use.I picked up 4mpg on my 2009 TDI Jetta by installing a simple 45 degree chrome tip and removing the cat section of the exhaust. It was super quiet by passing the cat, muffler and resonator plus performance was up big time also.

Interesting. I never would have thought of dropping the cats but it's been awhile since I've been around this stuff.

I guarantee you will love the car. The most usable power curve street-wise I've ever experienced.

The car rules. But I too need that extra torque. I need it to last longer and last over a larger usable band.

I live on the west coast and need any option to be reachable from here on the West Coast.

With the Europe tunes being available for so long, is it just the new ECU causing difficulties? Is it highly encrypted or something?
Or are you just testing the maps at the moment?
Does the US exhaust system make it tricky with the adblu system to consider?
425 torq is lovely, but I would love more!
