Has anyone had any problems with their AWD functionality when changing the rolling diameter of the tire/wheels? Do the sensors need to re calibrated? I drive an E90 M3 (it's for sale) but my wife drives an '11 E90 335i x drive. I'm just curious about x drive issues when changing out tires and wheels.
Thanks- |

My setup is: 19x8.5 et 35 235/35/19 19x9.5 et 35 275/30/19 The overall rolling diameter difference is almost indiscernible. .1% difference. You could say run a 265/30/19 but that elevates the difference to a .8%, uneven tire wear could tip you over that 1% threshold with this setup. IMO FYI Use this site: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html Best tire calculator ever.

thats the perfect drop! why is that some guys with KW V1 can't go that low but you can? you have no gap with 4 threads to spare in the front, while others with V1 all the way down have a finger gap!
Its confusing me on wether to go for v1 or H&R, im going in circles here |

Hi All,
I just got my 2007 328xi lowered with Bilstein sport suspension and H&R springs. I have 18x8 wheels, 225/40 tires, 12mm spacer in the front and 15 mm spacer in the back. The car was lowered 1.2" in the front and 1.3" in the back, but there is still a pretty big gap up front, although its a lot better than before. Anyway, I was just looking for suggestions on closing the front gap. Should I have gotten coilovers for the front? I could maybe try to exchange/sell the front shocks/springs back used since I just got them installed yesterday. Or, maybe I just have the wrong rims/tires for this car. I've read that lowering the car more than 1.2" in the front you run into driveability problems, etc. Is that true? I live in the Boston area, so the roads suck. Thanks in advance for the help. I've attached a picture of my car after being lowered on the above mentioned setup. Thanks, Dave |

I just put my KW V1s on this past weekend and will throw up some pics after it stops raining and I get out and do a shoot.
How long has it taken for the suspension to "settle"? I have 6 threads left and it isn't that close to Cuba's with 4 left...

I want to see some kw1's dropped all the way. Wish there was something better to go lower besides custom.

Lowered on kw v1s with 7 threads in the front. About half in the back. Will take new pictures lowered all the way when I get the wheels back from refinishing. |
