DCT is a no-brainer IMO

Recently drove an "old" 335i convertible with the ZF box and the difference between this and the DCT is palpable to the point that it's unfair to compare really.

Plus, when I got mine back from the dealers, they'd updated the software and it's now even better!

[QUOTE=m1bjr;8533954]For me the whole part of the 'drive' is shifting gears, heal&toe etc.

You will miss being able to rev up high before changing gear slowly to savour the exhaust pop as the revs drop.... ahhh sweet ...

Sorry to reopen an old (ish) thread but I have a similar problem in deciding what to do next....... I'd always driven manuals until going for my current M-DCT M3 cab...... I miss heel and toe shifting a bit but M-DCT is near perfect for somebody like me that previously hated automatics with a passion!

To save a bit of money I'll be changing the M3 for a new 335i M Sport so wondering whether to go for the DCT or manual...... my biggest question is around the DCT and whether it has any different modes like the M-DCT does..... I always drive the M3 in S5 manual mode as I like to be able to feel the kick when it changes gear. Is there ANY feel with the 335i DCT box (sport mode??) or are all changes smooth.

Also the M-DCT gives great throttle blips on down changes which I suspect are not present with the standard DCT?

Can anyone confirm before I try and arrange test drives?

Cheers!!!!
