Autocar - M3 vs C63AMG and new A4

As per the title really. Didn't get chance to buy a copy but they seem to be liking the new A4 compare to the 3 series (when you see them side by side I can see why) and they also seemed to rate the C63 over M3 - caveat: I didn't get to the conclusion, was late for train!

What have autocar got against the M steering wheel?! FFS its lovely and they continue to drone on about how thick it is...... GET ADULT SIZED HANDS! The C63 one looks just as chunky in the photo anyway. The M3 interior looks better IMHO.

Worth getting I reckon.. (The mag) I will be.

After reading the article its harris gives the nod to the M3 ( obviously nothing to do with the fact hes ordered one)

C63 faster than M3.
C63 Better steerinf feel

M3 slightly lighter front end so better adjustability
M3 Revs higher therfore a bit more of a pure driver car.

I cant be arsed changing gear manually any more, i do 30k per year i love torque and the m3 dont have much, but i think its horses for courses, bothe are clearly brilliant cars which ever you choose you;ll have a great car just IMO the C63 looks better than the M3, the 6.2 liters V8 sounds utterly amazing and i'm getting one

he says if the M3 driver isnt a brilliant driver he wouldnt see which way the C63 went......enough for me to know ive made the correct decision.......roll on 2008

Actually I think you'll find Chris Harris prefers the M3 over the C63 but only by a very small margin.

Got to rate the new C63 though, awesome car me thinks. Compared to pictures of what the new saloon M3 will look like, i for one much prefer the look of the AMG. So much more aggresive, the M3 saloon just looks too ordinary.

I knew you would get in quick when I saw c63amg in the title of the thread

I have to say I think the new c-class is a fine looking car .. at least the sport model with the AMG grille is.

If it's any consolation I know someone who works for Royal Mail and he is well and truly hacked off by the whole thing. Mainly because every day he strikes is a days pay lost.

My heart bleeds for him.

Still, I suppose that he can spend all day in the pub rather than having to wait until 1 pm. Bit of a double whammy though - less pay, more to spend on beer.

Is this why he is so upset?

after how many miles is it loosening up. Mines on 120 miles and am loving it. Will post some pics on Monday. Black Sapphire with Saddle 335d E92.

Back to the thread, peoples opinons vary, its all a little subjective, the C is a nice car in AMG spec though, specially in white.

on tangent, with no spare in the E92 what happens if u have a puncture on a long road trip holiday in the UK?!

He is a manager in the sorting office. He doesn't earn a massive amount and works a regular shift.

The dispute is really about the guys doing the rounds, but one of the issues my mate has is that under the new terms he could be sent anywhere to do his days work. So he could end up having to make his own way, unpaid, to an office 60 miles away. Normally this would be constructive dismissal, but he is being asked to waive this right in return for ... well nothing.

The problem is that these 'spanish practices' have been part of the terms and conditions for years. So it really is the case that the employees are being asked to do more than has been previously required for no additional money.

I can see both sides of the argument, as can he, but he doesn't get paid a lot and the loss of 4 or 5 days wages a month will be painful
