life expectancy of LUX E90 V6 angel eye upgrade

so, my indy shop tells me my ext. bulb indicator that came on last week is telling me an angel eye only has 30hrs left.

I asked him about aftermarket BRIGHTER ones and he said he has installed a few, but they don't seem to last as long as OEM.

what have you guys experienced?

thanks in advance

I bought and installed a set back in January this year and have not had any issues. They look great and are very bright. I believe they also come with a 1 yr warranty.

Since when can a car predict how many hours are left on an H8 bulb? I'm pretty sure the best it can do it tell when a bulb is out based on under voltage or current drop.

that's what I thought too.

but this is the second time in 8 years that indicator light has come on. I think the first time a bulb was replaced under warranty by BMW.... like around 40k miles. I think.

Somehow an elec reading shows that a bulb is about to die?
