The 2011 LCI E92 grilles are a different shape, so I don't think the 335is grilles will work on your 2009.

So if you want the 335is grille does that mean you want it all black? If so that's easy to find.

order the all black ones. u can separate the slants and the frame around it. so put the chrome slants and black frame. or you could have blk slants and chrome frame

Are you sure that's just not the reflection? I know for a fact I've seen a stock 335is at a dealership with all black grilles.... I'm looking into this more. It's pissing me off

Just texted a friend that's a salesman at a dealership, and he said that the kidneys on a 335is are all black. The chrome affect is just the glare

now that we've got that settled...

I saw three 335is on my dealer's lot- they all had chrome slats with a black perimeter. I didn't know if they are aftermarket or stock, but my money is on the fact that they are stock.

Well based on what I've seen and what a guy that sells BMWs has told me, I think the chrome effect is just the effect the light has on it.

Regardless of whether they are chrome or not you can simply do what is stated above to get the effect you want. The rims of the grilles clip on to the slat portion and can be seperated.

So go out and buy some matte black grilles for your car, take the black rim off them, and put the black rims on the chrome slats from your stock grilles, and reinstall

Rarely, actually, never, have I met a salesman that knew nearly as much as I do about the car I am going to buy (Regardless of what car that is)

My dealer didn't even know why the e92 iS didn't have fogs while the e93 did

and I had to point out the missing iS badge to them too...

Exactly! When I bought my car the dealer internet site posting of the car and it's description/options was fairly incorrect once I went & actually saw the car.

I could immediately see what options it really had, but when I asked the salesman for confirmation, he had to toddle off to the back and get paperwork (pull VIN ID) on car to see what it actually had - he couldn't tell just by looking

This guy knows his stuff, believe me. Unlike most salesmen he's an enthusiast and can tell you everything about every car he's ever sold. I'm just saying I have never seen a 335is from the dealer with chrome anywhere on the kidneys.

I took this picture I took at the NY Autoshow, now look at that and then tell me what color the kidneys are

Those defintely look to be ALL Gloss Black - hence the chrome look due to reflection from lights as stated.

In that pic even the grill rims look to be chrome due to reflection

No hate here, but I have seen these in person. I really think what you are looking at is the effect the light has on it. Also if anyone here is a 335is owner chime in so we can finally settle this lol

From the 2011 3 Series Coupe Brochure, 'The black chrome air intake grills with blacked-out kidney surround, black side-view mirror caps,..."

It doesn't specifically say the slats, but it does specifically call out the kidney surround instead.
