Mods this week - exhaust
Hi,
E92 335i JB4 - I Run map 1 and map 5 only DCI ETS - FMIC I am adding Riss Racing Downpipes for a good price in Toronto. I am running stock exhaust because I don't want a very loud sound. I have a source that will sell me Renntech exhaust for a very good price and my shop will install them for free with the downpipes. Should I get the Renntech exhaust with the RR downpipes or keep the stock exhaust? I want to pass e-mission test in 2 years please.

IF you get catless downpipes, I don't think you'll pass emissions anywhere (not 100% sure about Toronto's stance on removing the cats)

If they do a sniffer test you will not pass with catless downpipes. If they just check OBD II readiness you might be able to get away with it if you use an o2 simulator / downpipe fix.
OR Just put the stock downpipes back on before testing. |

an aftermarket exhaust is only for sound? It really doesn't add much HP. I believe 3-8 HP, depending on exhaust?
I have heard stock exhaust with c-less downpipes. I like that sounds. I just got these downpipes for reduce turbo lag and nicer sound.

If you don't want that louder sound, don't go for cat less DP's...
I would say catted downpipes, but then again, if your looking for power, cat less is the way forward tbh. Stock OEM muffler is perfectly fine as mentioned till you get to high HP. |

Chuck i lov your car. So you have Rennart exhaust with catless DP's?
that will be the set up I can get. I could stay with stock exhaust with DP's.
