On a E92 330xd produced in 2008 in Europe with CCC that has PDC, what is the easiest(cheapest) way to get a rear view camera? Do I need to upgrade to CIC too? Also, will you ship the goods to Bulgaria(or at least UK- i can get them from there)?

We do not offer any retrofits for CCCs, and as far as I know you cannot have a rear-view camera, without upgrading to the CIC.
We can definiely ship to Bulgaria - we ship worldwide!

You can add backup camera to CCC. I have one. I am not going to mention their name cause they are your competitor.. but it is possible.

Mine works great and I love it.

Has anyone recently done this? How labor-intensive is the install?

What bmwretrofit refers to is that there is no OEM software/coding for a CCC to enable rear view camera as this thread shows for the CIC.

Otherwise, yes, there is a hardware video interrrupt rear camera accessory for the CCC.

i have a question for the people who installed cameras with CCC interface and already have PDC:

if you press the PDC button manually.. will the camera be activated? or just the PDC will appear on the screen?

Please provide your vehicle's VIN via PM or email (info@bimmerretrofit.com), so I can confirm. Thanks, Kate.

All of our rear-view cameras now come with a "Programmable PNP Activation Module".

This module offers numerous advantages, such as:

1. This module can be easily re-programmed by the customer to suit his needs. Re-programming does not require any special technical skills and is done via a software update through the USB port.

2. This is an ideal product if you are planning to re-configure your vehicle in the future (such add a rear-view camera) or if you are planning to replace the vehicle altogether (E-series or F-series).

3. You will no longer need to replace your PNP activation module if you change your vehicle or change configuration of your vehicle. This means there is no waiting time, there is no money loss and there is no hassle at all! Just remove the PNP cable, get a software update from Bimmer Retrofit and perform a software update!

4. This is an ideal product for dealers, since they can purchase PNP modules in advance, without knowing the exact vehicle/configuration of the vehicle.

5. Features will become available to customers via a firmware update, when new features come out!ing will be required after installation!

Features:
1. Can be used to activate navigation, voice control and video in motion in both E and F-series (CIC and NBT). By default, it is included in ALL of our CIC retrofit kits for E-series;
2. Can be used to activate rear-view camera (with/without PDC);
3. More features to come:
a. Error-code clean-up;
b. Self-programmable rear-view camera. This means, no coding will be required after installation!

Unfortunately my install has not gone so well on my E93 2008 M3. They coded my car to turn the camera module on but then the pdc graphics on the right hand side of the screen stopped working and the pdc sensors are not as sensitive anymore. When they coded it back to the original the pdc graphics and the sensitivity of the pdc was back to normal so it has something to do with the way they code the module.

They promised that they would search for a solution and get back to me. The install was done in Oct 2013 but they still haven't been able to solve it after several coding sessions between Oct 13 to Dec 13 and since then I have not heard anything. I am now thinking I'll need to go elsewhere to get a retrofitted camera that works but doubt I will get my money back for this camera.

Sir, as we have explained to you previously, you need to update your vehicle's software to the latest version. The reason why the PDC is not displaying is because the software in the PDC module is outdated. When you update the software, the camera and PDC will work correctly.

When you coded my car for the 3rd time in Nov 2013, you checked my software and confirmed back to me that my software had been updated to the most recent version. I have the email correspondence with Vlad confirming that the coder did this.

Anjohn, I checked with Vlad and the latest email was sent to you on 12/17/2013 and in that email Vlad informed you that your vehicle's software must be updated to the latest version, since outdated software is likely to be causing the problem. We never heard back from you since than. Was the software updated?

To be honest, I don't see why we should be discussing this here, since these issues are specific to your vehicle, and are not necessary relevant to others. I will ask Vlad to forward his last email to you and we can take it from there.
