Bluetooth + Voice Control worth the money?
Well my E92 335d will be ordered tomorrow since the M-package details and prices are known. I still have on more doubt ...
I will be ordering Navigation professional but I'm still not sure wether I should take Bluetooth or not. I call like 1x / month my car so basically it's not worth it, especially if you realise the option costs 700 EUR. BUT ... you get Voice control for free, so the package gets a bit more attractive. Is Voice Control worth it? I know I can order it without bluetooth, but I'm willing to take that since it's good for my resale value. And ... if you have iDrive but no bluetooth ... what's behind the "Communication" menu-option?

i think if you have paid the money for pro-nav then blue-tooth with voice control just completes the comms package. I think most second owners would expect bluetooth to be in a car like the BMW and will be expected to justify the higher second hand price with nav. The bluetooth is also very good and you dont even need to get the phone out of your pocket it just pairs up when you get in and your phone book comes up on nav screen. When you get that call when driving it is also much safer thna using your mobile. The voice control is also very good and allows control of nav/hi-fi/phone. Some people say that its a bit hit and miss but if you press the button on the steering wheel wait for it to "blip" and the hi-fi volume goes down then wait for the symbol to come up in the left corner of screen and then speak it works 100%, but make sure window is shut to keep out any traffic noise. If you start speaking after the blip then it is not always ready to receive and so may only hear part of what you have said.

Soooooo worth it. My 325 does not have BT, but my dad's 330 does. Its such a nice feature. When I get loaners that have BT I immediately hook my phone up. I'm even thinking of buying the BT system and getting it installed. Which is like 2k all together if you don't have it originally installed.
So do it. You won't regret it.

Definitely get it.
My favorite voice commands which never fail are radio tuning and voice dialing: "Frequency 93.9 FM" "Call Joe Smith Mobile" "Call Joe Smith Home" "Call Joe Smith Office" It can always tell the difference. The other good one is going back and forth between "perspective" and "arrow display" Trying to enter nav destination via voice control is useless, and that makes me pretty mad actually.

I think it is worth it. Anything that help you keep control of your car is good.

1. Voice control is EXCELLENT - most useful feature on the car 2. The Bluetooth Phone Kit is superb 3. It will be MUCH easier to sell with these bits. |

Hehe, there have been multiple threads on this, and all of it is pretty unanimous. Go get it =)
Bluetooth is my #1 favorite feature in the car. All my cars in the future MUST have it. Sound quality and clarity is amazing (although I heard there's some variations depending on phone). And I like the voice controls. Starting to use it more and more to offset the slightly cumbersome iDrive menu navigation.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that you should get this option. Even if it cost 1400 Euros. Aside from the "cool factor", it can save your life by keeping your attention on the road. Isn't that worth even more than its weight in gold? 700 Euros is a small price to pay.
