Trim panels

My e90 has the wood effect trim panels on the dash, console and doors.

Although its starting to grow on me, can anyone recommend a vinyl wrapping service that can easily change this if desired?

I assume this would be cheaper than buying a second hand set.

If you want to try this yourself it isn't that difficult to do if you take your time. The 3M carbon can be gotten off ebay. Hot air gun is recommended but a hair dryer would also work.

Is there a DIY guide you could kindly point me to?

if it goes wrong or doesn't look right, is it reversable?

I did use a company in sheffield but poor compared to this guy and sheffield guy is very pricey.

Only guide on here is for removing and installing the trim: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=137527

If you search you could find a more generic guide, its pretty straight forward though. Only real issue is to make sure that you line up the pattern on different bits of trim.

Is easily reversible, just pull it off. Even possible to reuse the bit of vinyl.

Does anyone know how much material you need and also which is the best to order? There are so many choices online (ebay). I like the look of the bubble free stuff - does anyone have any experience working with this and is it really any better than the plain stuff like 3M?

Thanks

A colleague at work has bought some good stuff off ebay (£20 for 1mx1.5m) and had messed around with the hair dryer method. He's done it on his tablet and smartphone with quite impressive results (he'd never done it before).

I've since ordered myself some and should be receiving it in a day or 2 and I will be doing exactly the same as you guys - all of my interior trim is in wood effect and as much as I liked it at first I think its made me age faster (mentally ) so I'm gonna give it a go - will post my success after all is done.
