My 335is is on order!

Hi All,
I'm new to this forum today. I've had 2x e46s (still driving one of them), a e36, and my wife's F10 should arrive any day now. Just a couple weeks ago I decided to finally pull the trigger on a 335is. I've been eyeing this model since they were announced in 2010. I test drove the 2013 335i sedans when I decided on the F10. The sedans felt rather numb in the steering department and I couldn't get over the iPad on the dash, so I started to get worried about the new 4-coupes. I didn't realize how difficult it would be to get a new 335is and was afraid I'd waited too long. So, here's my story...

I just ordered the 335is 4 days ago. I started the process about 3 weeks earlier emailing my dealer and at that time I was told all remaining production slots for US bound 335is coupes were already filled. I was sure I had waited too long and was out of luck, but my local dealership is only about a mile away so I stopped in to see what could be done. I worked a lot with my dealer who was able to see what was in production, status 150, and what had not yet started production, status 112. There were only 3 production slots not already owned by someone, meaning they were going to dealers to sell on their lots. My dealership worked hard with these out of state dealers and was able to get one of the slots from a dealership in Seattle. I'm in Northern Colorado. Since production hadn't started I was able to select the build configuration. I'm expecting the car at the end of July or early August.

If you're still holding out you might be out of luck. Seems the other two dealerships did not want to give up their slots. But, if you are OK with buying a dealership's build configuration there were some white on red and black on blacks, maybe even a blue on black if I remember right, at dealerships around the US just last week.

BTW: I ordered Space Grey coupe, red leather, premium pkg., cold weather pkg., premium sound pkg., 6spd MT.

Can't wait to start throwing those gears around!

I'll post some pics after it arrives.

Such a shame, I wanted to do a Euro delivery on the 335is. I guess the only option left is the 135i. I rather give up 1-2 mpg's and still have hydraulic steering.

I purchased an AW/CR 335is coupe with DCT from Braman BMW in Miami yesterday. It was a custom order that was not picked up, sold to me only a day later! This certainly is a more rare car

I really miss throwing around the gear shifter. My last manual was a 330i and before that was a MR2 turbo. I know the DCT is awesome, but for me the shifter adds so much fun And that's what this car is all about

If you got the MT 335is then you got one of the best N54 manual driven cars that comes with the PPK.

However, the DCT 335is remains unique out of all the N54 3 series in which none of the N54 before it never had......and of course its the DCT, the same DCT used in the S65 E92 M3.

The DCT N54 335is is the only 3 series that comes even close to a DCT E92 M3 from the factory

I am blowing the horn on it now, but not only will the value of this car have a strong demand in the future, but when you hear it is a DCT N54 it will send a reverence of fear similar to when your hear GT-R

lol i hope you're joking. Entry level sports car =/= supercar. I mean, they both have steering wheels, so I guess you can compare those. In demand, thats funny.

Ummm no, when you throw something on a 335is like Vargas Stage 3 Turbos with an upgrade DTC etc you are going to have one sick 3 series ride

Yeah, lets see how many people do that. So you go ahead and do that, then go and race a FBO stock turbo GTR and get walked. The 335is can not be compared to the GTR, well I guess it can be, if you just want to make yourself feel good.

Then next you will say FBO GTR with upgraded Turbos ....time slips will talk.

I might not need to do SSP technically....one source was able to get 700+ whp and 550+ wtq out of his "STOCK" DCT before slipping. I don't need anything near this power to get into 10s

What I am looking for is 500-600 power range running efficiently on 93 octane

Yeah it will be sick for sure, but you better bring your leash b/c a GTR will still take your ass for a walk.

A lightly modded GTR will still be able to beat a 335is with the best turbo kit on the market installed.
