Seats choice / car choice

HI all,
looking to finally pick my e90 by the end of the week. slight problem. the car i really like is great except the fact that the seats are suede!...a bit of a pain to maintain i hear...i wouldve preferred leather....
just wanted to find out if it really is a chore to maintain them or any other downsides to them.
if all is not as bad...might consider gettin it.........if anything i guess i can change the seats if its cheap enough, right?

the other e90 that has leather seats is almost £2k more, at least 6 months older and douoble the milage..
..any thoughts?

If you really like the one with the leather seats, can you not beat them down on the price a bit. Point out the factors you've already noted and get them to adjust the price accordingly???

If you mean M sport Alcantara - I prefer them and they wear well. Not hot in the summer or cool in the winter and grip you better in the twisties.

I think age/mileage should be a higher priority, also with it costing £2k less it seems a clear choice.

Perhaps it's worth waiting for one matching all your requirements, I had a long list of must-haves when I was looking for my car and it took 2 months before the exact spec and colour combo I wanted came up but it was worth it.

You may want to try the sports seats out if you haven't sat in them yet, they don't suit everyone since they are harder to get in and out of, they are also a bit tight for people with larger waists.
I tried a car with heated leather sports seats and fell in love, they are like like being spooned by a giant hot water bottle and make all the difference on a cold day.

I've had the suede with kids in the back and it wears fine.
If the sport plus had the option of suede I would have been really tempted instead of leather, i think it looks great and grips better. Not a down side for me

The seats are easy to clean, very robust and IMO more confortable than leather.

A friend has an Audi S6 with alcanrata seats - it's done 60K+ miles with 2 little kids throwing all they can at it. It wears very well indeed - alcantara isn't suede, it's far more forgiving. Provided it is a dark colour I would not worry. If you have any concernyou couls always scotchguard them or similar.

Given the price and mileage difference between the two cars you're considering, I'd have to say, suede seats maintenance notwithstanding, that the one with the suede seats is the one to get. Dirty seats on a newer/younger/less expensive car seems but a very minor price to pay.

That said, you may want to consider seat covers. They are surely less expensive than much else and are often washable or dry cleanable.\

Good luck.
