ViVA Performance SMF feedback sugestions

Hi everyone,

My clutch is toast, I am ordering the 550i/335is kit from ECS tunning, and I have been wondering if I should replace the DMF for a SMF, I did some gogle searching but couldn't find much info for the N55, most of what I found related to the N54.

I found this SMF from Viva performance Single Mass Steel Flywheel, BMW 3-Series 1-Series 5-Series N54 N55 it costs $539.

It says it fits the N54, so does it means that I could use any SMF for a N54?

Based on your research, and what I read from Viva performance the flywheel on the LCI, or at least production date post FEb 2009 is different, after selecting the option for production date post Feb-2009 and dowel pin style to 10mm the price change to $584.

Questions what is the dowel pin style?

See below from their website
Please select the proper production date and dowel size for your vehicle.
•10mm dowel is for OEM clutch size, 6mm is for aftermarket clutch size
•Pre Feb 2009 is production before 2/09
•Post Feb 2009 is prodction after 2/09
Vehicle Fitment:
•E90 E92 E93 3-Series 335i/xi (N54 N55) 2007-2012
•E82 1-Series 135i (N54) 2007-2012
•E60 5-Series 535i/xi (N54) 2008-2012

Next question would it be worth going trough the trouble of replacing the original DMF if it is in good condition?

I'm not 100% sure on this - but adding to what jwz was saying - I believe n54 and n55 have different bolt patterns.
