be aware of the MD state troopers commercial division....they run unmarked explorers, durango's and expeditions so be careful out there. Saw a new 2014 unmarked explorer pull over a silver m3 today on hwy 100

I saw a guy get nailed by an explorer lmao it was rush hour traffic and he maybe had 100 yards of room and he gunned it and his exhaust went nuts and the copper lit him up

I had a dude come up to my window out of a Hyundai and flash his badge at me and tell me to get my bumper fixed on my last car because I had no liscense plate and was waiting for a store to open in rockville.

in the trucks... it seems as they have just been passing cops and then getting pulled over. I have my radar on at all times and ive never seen an unmarked truck lurking to catch speeders.

I need to be more careful then I almost never spead around exploeres and of course Chevys/crown vics

Why can't sequestration cut some of these bums so they have to focus more on real police work lol

well in favor of the cat i saw getting pulled over in the m3... he didnt get a ticket because my gf was about 2 mi behind me so i called to give her a heads up, and by the time she got yo where the m3 was pulled, she said the m3 was gone and the explorer was still there. funny thing is i was running with the m3 then we hit traffic.. he kept flying... got pulled. no radar no laser.. #thestruggle

I think it was his personal car. He was also waiting to go into the store (it wasn't marked and you'd never have known it). But he sure as s* had the gun and believable badge.

The Ford Dealership across Wegmans in Columbia is one of the big suppliers of these unmarked Ford Explorers... about a month ago, i saw about 50 in the lot - all police (knew because of the spotlight). most were white, but there are some other colors as well.

I am not LE however i work in a support role to folks on the federal side. Local LE are sworn to protect and uphold city/state laws while on duty. Off duty they are obligated to Protect if an imminent threat presents itself.

That being said....if an off duty cop is riding in an unmarked/patrol.. can they stop you YES....

In a personal vehicle... depends on the totality of the circumstances. I have a badges and credentials, however my jurisdiction isn't to uphold local/state laws... Could i use it to my advantage Yes... is it illegal Yes... hence why i do not do it.

Pretty much if a cop is with his fam in his bmw and u dont have a front plate...im pretty sure he isnt going to pull out his handy dandy ticket app and cite you.. .however he can detain u briefly and call in someone who can.

Most folks off duty are really OFF DUTY.... they have lives just like us.

hahaha probably the same cop who got me then. Exactly where i got pulled over just outside of bmore going north to philly on 95. Curiosity was it a black f-150?

I guess you guys are new to the area, welcome to Maryland. Any impounded vehicles can be used to convert to a cop car, mostly state troopers. That being said, I have seen people get pulled over by a silver monte carlo, green dodge mini van, 07-09 white fully tinted mustang, 02 - 04 red mustang, white 10-12 escalade, black ford explorers k-9 unit, and a few others in the dark that I couldn't recognize the model. The white mustang tried to trap people for street racing, he creep next to me to instigate street racing on 95. What you don't see is the state trooper about 3 cars behind hiding behind another vehicle. Good thing I was lazy and didnt budge

to me "imminent threat" is someone carrying an assualt rifle going into a school and shooting 20 kids
not someone doing 75 in a 55

or someone with tinted windows
i'm on the fence in regards to people who have neon lights under their cars

I would love to see our LEO's get screwed by sequestration the way some of them act (as mean as that is lol )
