Complete Car SW Update

So I went in dealer today for warranty headlight replacement and on the way in my car throws Check Engine/Reduce power. Perfect timing! Dealer calls and says O2sensor (front side) error code but tests the sensor and said it is fine. Dealer Advised that since my production date that SW has had several updates and said that a complete update is the only course of action they can take since car is throwing code when nothing is wrong. Reluctantly, I said OK. Yes, I know all my wonderful coding will be GONE, which is very sad. I will have to update my Daten and start over getting everything back to the way it was. My question (I know finally) is what else if anything should I expect with the update. My production date was 9/2010 and was one of the very first 335is. Has anyone gone thru this that has been coding and run across other challenges/issues after this update. Dealer said every module on the car will be updated including DCT controller. (DCT owners chime in if you noticed any changes with the DCT after a SW update. Thank anyone everyone for chiming in. Also, update was today so link/location for latest Daten would also be great.

Did you code in 6NR, BMW Apps? If so, you'll now need a FSC to get it working again.

Great Question Mr. Milo! My car was produced a few months before the offered 6NR so my combox did not have the SW for Apps. Now that it does I will be enableing 6NR and will have to search for someone to Buy FSC from. Once I add that to the VO for the two modules and recode will the request for the FSC code just appear on the screen?

No, you can only enter map update FSC codes into the iDrive directly (FSC short code).

The 6NR FSC (long FSC) will need to be loaded by ISTA/P or a coder with the proper tools.
