I just bought one from Amazon-Assenmacher Specialty Tools SP1412 14mm, 12-Point Thin Walled Spark Plug Socket ($26.75). Make sure you get the right one others claim to fit BMW and do not! If it's a rush you can meet me near Coral Springs and you can borrow it.

Not sure about a magnet, but it has a rubber piece inside to keep the plug in place. Your going to need an 3/8" extension also- it's a deep socket.

Whats up fellas!

I just did my spark plugs and I got the correct thin walled socket from pepboys for $2.75. I will post pics later when I get home. I dont get why everyone is willing to pay over $20 for a socket...

whats up guys,

Well here is the pic. Got it at Pepboys and no issues, did all 6 in 45 minutes start to finish and it cost me $2.50...

I really don't see the need to pay anything over $5 buck for a socket. That shit you see for $26 thats just WRONG!

Any case good luck to all and let me know if you need help,

How did you get that socket to work? your spark plugs are 6 point? because the n54 and n55 come 12 point and you can only get them off with the 12 point socket. just curious

I just know that it fits perfect... I took the new NGK (1208) ILZFR6D11 Laser Iridium spark plug (AMAZON).com to Pepboys inserted into the socket and it was a perfect fit. 12 point 6 point 8 point, I have no CLUE... I just know that it fit and it works perfect. I did the change in 45 minutes and have NO issues. Recommendation, take the new plug to Pepboys and see if it fits. Thats what I used and it worked.

Its not the fit around the plug, its getting the socket down into the hole. I have sockets that fit the plugs they're just not thin walled.

Not sure if you are even comparing apples to apples! Our plug is Bosch p/n ZGR6STE2 and this is the only part number the Bentley gives for the 335i.

There is no NGK plug that works on the 335i (according to NGK's website)

Sounds like this got all MIXED UP real quick. First thing, I don't have 335i, I have 2006 325i Pre-LCI. That's the socket I used and those where the spark plugs that the car requires. Where are not comparing apples to apples cause of the model of the car. Simply put this is what I used for my 325i pre-lci and it worked. Now I see reading back 335i have different plugs and perhaps require different socket.

But I would still check out Pepboys, you just might find the socket cheaper... I bought the socket to remove the oil filter for $5, online starts at $15.
