A tune will be the best you could possibly do to your car at this point. However, I will throw out the caution that with the increased boost you may find yourself chasing small problems here and there such as pesky misfires. After 28k miles, my spark plugs were toast. After 37k miles I had to replace the ignition coils. Even with the occasionally problems, a tune makes a night and day difference. Good luck!

Likely, because they would have otherwise been all over this haha...

And for $$ paid, JB4 is the best bang for the buck. Enough said....

Ya, this is the one concern I have since my car is at 61K miles. Guess I had better get really smart on how to fix this beast!

To have those mods and not have a tune is pointless.. You buy those mods because you are running more air/pressure through the system. That said jb4 ftw

The only cure for such an addiction is "selling your car", but then it starts all over with your next car. Happy modding and ride the wave all the way in

Once I had the catch can in I knew that it was time for an FMIC, because hey, it just helps the car run better - ETS FMIC ordered. I should help the car breathe better with a better intake - DCI installed. Since I already have a DCI, I might as well continue to help the engine flow better - VRSF downpipes ordered. With the dp's comes the dpfix...or do I just return the dp fix I bought and put it towards a JB4? Terry says he'd be happy to oblige. So, aside from this being another annoying "hey guys what should I do" thread....

Hey guys, what should I do? Buy the JB4 and continue down the rabbit hole
Without a tune, you spent a lot of money only to decrease the overall quality of your car. Because trust me, almost any OEM part is better designed and integrated with the car than the aftermarket equivalent, and I say this from a lot of experience. Only do aftermarket stuff when you have a purpose, like increasing power over the limits of what the stock hardware can do.

And if you will get a tune, do yourself a favor and avoid piggybacks. Those are some of the most unpredictible parts you can install in your car.

As a general rule yes, and for any other application besides N54/N55 I would heartily agree, but the quality of work and attention to detail that the two major piggybacks tuners have done makes them an excellent and viable choice.

HUH, WHAT, what happened, did someone say COBB?

in all reality, the OP will not gain anything from asking "what should I get" IMO. I mean if the OP is really relying on what others think, and not his own decisions, then just do a poll and go with the higher number. Really the OP should base things on his own goals and objectives, IMO each tune has their perks and quirks, except for COBB Did someone say Pro Tune??

Good Luck OP.

I wouldn't say that I didn't gain anything - basically got the affirmation that what I really wanted to do was a good idea, and not just being silly with my money. Purchased the JB4, should be here tomorrow

maybe my word "gain" wasn't the right word. I really can't speak for you.

Sounds like you will be having some fun shortly. Enjoy your new mod.

It took me 6 months before I modded. 07 335XI... DCI and JB4... I shot myself for not doing it sooner. I bought mine used from a member here and it has DP fix (i dont have DPs and i wont have some for a while). So if you really want that DP fix throw me a message and make me an offer... since im not using it
