Good Deal?
Looking for opinions on this deal from people who have bought recently and have an idea on what's realistically acheivable. Managed to negotiate a 12.5%discount and 8% APR on a PCP deal with my local dealer on a 320d M Sport. Just wondered if that seems about right and if the APR on BMW finance can be squeezed lower?
Also, on the spec. has anyone experience of the Individual Sun Protection Glass? Is it good enough to negate the need for blinds? Thanks. |

Discount looks great, but drive the deal are offering 17% off (£22,810) at the moment - if you are not tradin in it would be worth a look. With regard to the PCP structure, you need to watch the retained value. I found that they were artificially low, which costs you in the end. You might be better getting a personal loan offer (look at moneysupermarket.co.uk) and asking BMW to match it for straightforward HP. Monthly costs might increase, but it will be a better deal overall. Alternatively, if you want to keep the payments down a lease purchase scheme will probably work out cheaper for you than a PCP, but you will have to take the risk on the trade in value. The 320d msports hold their price REALLY well though and if you bought at the drive the deal price I reckon year one depreciation would be EXTREMELY low. |

NFS - good site
Just noticed something though "Extra Information PLEASE NOTE THE VARIOUS BMW SERVICE PACKS WILL NOT BE DISCOUNTED. The discounted price for BMW 3 Series Diesel Saloon includes a £1250 bonus which is conditional upon you taking out BMW Select Finance with BMW Financial Services. BMW are offering 8.2% Typical APR. The finance must be taken out for a minimum 36 months. Subject to Status. If you do not wish to take out this finance then you will need to add £1250 to the discounted price that we will quote you. All prices are valid for cars ordered after 4th April and registered, delivered and financed by 29th June 2007." 335i price as stock - no extras £34184 discount £5654.33 = £28530 335d price as stock - no extras £36110 discount £5937.13 =£30172.87

In any event, BMW financial services will go lower than 8.2% APR. You will just need to persuade them that this is necessary to secure the deal. BTW - for your own purposes - if you are taking out any sort of finance I would seriously suggest that you call Lombard - not 'Lombard Direct', but Lombard Business. http://www.lombard.co.uk/ They will lend to personal customers on high value cars and in my case they immediately offered to match the current best rate for unsecured personal loans. Funnily enough BMW agreed to match this within a couple of minutes, despite having earlier said that no-one would offer that rate on lease purchase. |

When I bought my car they checked the website whilst I sat there and negotiated the discount back from that position. They didn't match it - but they got with around five hundred quid from memory. |

http://www.dynamic-webs.co.uk/inform...alculator.html It would be worth playing around with this a bit to see the effect of a lower APR or a higher retained value / final payment. You can also take the final payment out altogether to see the straight HP costs. The APR is not bad, but not stunning. The discount is good, but you may still be paying more that you should because of a very low 'guaranteed minimum future value'. |

have drivethedeal discounts gone up lately? I just spec'd a car like mine and the discount was 16% !!!!
I got about 13% from my dealer and they gave me about right p/x - and at the time (a few weeks ago) I thought they'd got pretty close to the internet brokers e.g. coast2coast, broadspeed etc. Do people actually walk into dealerships and buy with little or no discount ? If not then all this discounting is going to lead to lower p/x values presumably in which case is it really a discount.

this being a bmw forum, most people using it will negogiate. But discount leveraged really depends on so many factors. E90 is heavily discounted as it past its 'new car stage' and bmw are looking at volume sales. see the convertible is not discounted at all, even the ex-demo cars will go at list.
i have seen people literally not ask the dealers, but the dealer then plays on it offering them a good disconut if they are willing to put down a deposit today etc... hence why they want you to come into to see them etc... harder to get away! 13 per cent is good for E90@ dealers, i got 11 per cent on a E92 Msport although delivery is not for many many month |

OK , i rang my dealer to see if i can get this extra discount on the finance deal so my saving would be the same as DrivetheDeal as i went with Coast2Coast. No problem at all so i have now got a further £1250 saving , i think my car should of cost £45500 and its going to be around £38250 so a saving off ::::::::::::: £7250
But i do have to use their finance |

Guys,
thanks for all the info, have got some quotes from Drive the Deal, which are pretty tempting. Now in the postion where a 325d or even a 330d M Sport (with a larger deposit) would come under a similar monthly price bracket! This is the sort of dilemna i like. What would you do? Slightly higher MPG not a major concern, but trying to keep monthly payments and deposit as low as i can. Coming from a re-mapped Focus ST3, i would like similar performance. Going for a Touring to accomodate soon to arrive second child. |

Alternatively look at a lease purchase scheme to 'park' the resale value of the car as a final payment. Interest charges increase, but you will reduce the monthly cost. Play around with the loan calculator I posted above. |

I think you could still better this, but not by enough to offset the additional £1850 discount. |

The loan calculator is certainly a handy tool. My quote from Drive the Deal was on APR of 8%, not 8.2% as stated so may be room for further negotiation. Local dealer was on the phone earlier this evening and could not beleive the deal i have been offered. Seems extremely keen to attempt to get close to this deal and has asked me to e-mail the figures, which he wants to run by his boss. Should be interesting to see if he can do anything!

my e92 335i m-sport is due end of next month. got a 3% discount still pretty gutted I didnt ask you guys first. Acutally its "5"% due to the price rises that come into effect 1st March.
was comtemplating cancelling the order and losing a grand.. and then re-ordering via coast2coast saving 2.5K but then its really only 1.5 i will save and then I have to wait a long time! not worth it i think. might email the dealer and ask for more as re: to my part x.. as rather foolishly i havent sorted this.. wish i asked you guys. just out of curosity i just checked out a drive the deal price on my spec E92 m-sport – sapphire black 225m rims Sat nav pro/Bluetooth/voice Grey poplar wood Auto Usb (6fl) Coral red Heated seats Folding and dimming mirrors Front sensors Drive The Deal Discounted Price: 41395 Your Saving: 975 Is this correct.. ? its very low Last edited by dazzapb; 04-11-2007 at 03:54 PM..
