Key Fob Help

I read many posts trying to find what the problem is (sorry to create another thread).
My key fob suddenly stopped working. I do not have the comfort access, therefore I do not have replaceable batteries in my fobs.
The central locking works fine and all locks are working fine.
I grabbed my spare fob and it didn't work either.
I checked the fuses. #73 and all door fuses and they are not blown.

Anyone know what the problem is?

Put it in the ignition, take a drive for about 20 minutes. Then see if the fob works. My spare did the same thing when the dealer gave it to me (they tried to withhold it, saying it was useless) Turns out, I guess it just needed to charge.

if you don't have CC then you have rechargeable battery in your fob but it is possible that your rechargeable is gone, meaning does not hold the charge (in your main key). Try to replace it with the new rechargeable battery or as a test cheep out and get the regular battery to see if that is the problem . The spare key if it was never used most like needs to be charged and it should work just fine as GreaseJunkie said .

Update, I drove around all day with the spare key fob. No luck. Both keys do not work. What should I look into next? I checked fuses....

I Figured it out. I replaced the #63 fuse (5amp) all is good now. I started getting frustrated and decided to start checking every fuse. It was the 2nd fuse I pulled. I Guess I got lucky.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for posting the result of what you found. So many people just disappear when they have a problem and it doesn't help anyone.

I am having the same frustrating problem. This is the first I have heard of the #63 fuse after checking 57 and 73. I hope that's it! Thanks!

You have to recharge the spare key once in a while
Every couple of months I use my spare key for a week
No probs (so far)
