Yes or no, chance to get a slightly used Arma SC kit...

The owner is selling an Arma Super Charge kit version 1 for half price (around USD$5600) installed.

The kit comes off from a E90 LCI 323i 2.5L 6AT which is exactly the same as my car.

Performance mods on the car:

Arma Super Charge kit with Arma ECU and Header
Okada Inigition Coil
Sprint booster
SuperSprint Quad exhaust

Performance mods on MY car:
AA stage-2 tune
K&N air filter with Euro box
SuperSprint Quad exhaust

Anyway, testing the car will be a good forecast on how the kit will perform on my car.

The kit has been installed for 6 months but only run for less than 1200km.

Review:

Sound: I do care about the noise that the sc kit will make simply because I don't want to have headache hearing some strange sound under the hood while I'm on road trip. To my surprise, the charger is quiet when idle and below 2,500 rpm. There is a "vbeep...." sound after 2,500 rpm and that sound gets louder together with the exhaust sound when rpm climbs. I'm ok with it.

Condition of the kit: It's like new, can tell from the picture. No leak or damage or dent, no weird sound, and actually all components are clean. I can tell the car is seldom driven.

Performance: The car pull noticeably harder after 3,000 rpm compare with my 323i. (Please note that my 323i is not stock and is greatly improved by the lovely AA tune ) Extra torque is there but not a +100hp setup, more like a +50hp or so.

I tried to do a 0-100km run but the car failed when shifting into 3rd gear!
The transmission gets into N gear when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear and the rpm climbs like crazy because I'm still WOT. The car cut throttle like a MT car and giving some back fire pop sound from the exhaust, I'm scared. Everything gets back to normal when I release the throttle.
Similar thing happens when I down shift from 3rd gear to 2nd gear. It seems to me that the TCU has failed to deny a downshift signal when rpm will exceed the limit if shift to lower gear. There is no error light ever pops up in the whole situation.

Owner claims that the transmission problem happen before installing the SC kit and it's proven NOT related to the kit after ARMA sending some technicians to investigate.

Drive-ability: Em...the car is smooth on normal driving. However, once I get hard on the car, the transmission will start to fail. Why would I want to drive like normal when I choose to install an aftermarket SC kit on my car?

Maintenance: Oil change on every 4-5,000km; SC kit service on every 20,000km.

I know Arma has recently come up with a new version of SC kit;
I know Arma SC kit does not have good reputation in here;
I have read and watch all available reviews and videos.
I'm being unbiased and evaluate whether I should get the kit or not.
Price can go even lower as far as I know...

Get it or not if you were me.

sounds cool, looks cool, but hell no. thats more problems than a lemon 335.

if you want more power at this point buy a NX wet kit and hit a 50 shot or sell and buy a 335.

I guess my point may be best said, My 328 was 32,000 for 36,000 I could have bought a 335 at that time.

the arma supercharger "2" is 7 grand plus 400 shipping and that isn't installed. even if its 5600 installed. I would buy a 335 mainly because for the same or less money you start out with the same hp or better, and you can go up from there into the 400+ range

Stay thirsty my friend....

call Arma ask if they can sell you the rotorex blower update. This kit is at your risk, no one here will recommend it.

Also, we recently talked about the Auto transmission not being able to handle the SC boost or tq and would slip. So maybe that is why the car with Arma has this issue.
The Arma technician in the failed Arma kit on e90 also placed blame on the user for using a different air filter ...

The ARMA supercharger, for when you absolutely, positively need to make the drivers death look like a suicide.

You've got $2-3k in body work, 13-14k in wheels, and still more in performance on a 323? And you haven't just kicked it up to a 335 yet?
