Logic 7 Retro Fit Help

Hi all, recently I was helping my dad part out an e93, which had the hifi audio, not top hifi/harmon kardon.

My 2011 335i came with base audio, which is no good. With this quarantine going on it inspired me to upgrade my audio to Logic 7, after seeing how the audio harness ran and me having loads of free time.

I am aware this is not the cheapest nor easiest option to upgrade our audio, however I personally hate non oem wiring and love when everything looks and feels stock.

I am looking for advice/help on a few things.

Parts I need: (Am I missing anything?)
Full Audio harness including MOST (Do I need Door wiring?)
AMP
Speakers
The rear panel behind back seats for additional speakers?

Secondly, would the only way for this to make sense to be to buy a parts car? or could it make sense to buy everything individually. The only thing I am having trouble with is finding the wiring harness.

And lastly, does anyone know wiring harness compatibility? I have an e92, would e90/1/3 work? Does Nav matter? Are hifi and top hifi/hk the same harness? if so I could possibly use the harness from the e93 parts car I already have but I doubt this.

If anyone has done this or has any advice it would be appreciated!

There is a master thread somewhere on here with all the speaker options. Seeing as you have a 2011 and the true base then youll need pretty much all of the speakers plus the wiring for the speakers you are missing(dash center, tweeters and the rear doors(rear seat sides?).

As well as the AMP +wiring which is on the fiber optic chain(MOST). Your best bet is pic n pull yard and just go through a car that has it

My advice would be to go aftermarket you can get much better results.

Nope
Hi Fi is and all analog harness using 6 basic speaker loacations.
Top Hi Fi has 9 basic speaker locations.
Top Hi Fi uses a fiberoptic feed from the Head Unit and the Head Unit
must be programmed for it.
Since there are three sound systems the Head Unit will probably have to be programmed
anyway.

Thank you both for the responses, Junkyard definitely seems the way to go and cannot use the hifi harness for HK.
Again I know I could achieve better results aftermarket but had HK in my old car and was very happy with the sound and just want OEM.

I went from HiFi to HK, the harnesses are almost the same, but the HK amplifier plug is completely different. There's already a fiber optic MOST link from the head unit to next to the HiFi amplifier for a factory cd changer.

I swapped out the speakers and subs using the HiFi speaker wiring, replaced the amplifier plug with an L7 plug, and used one of the leftover radio -> amp wires as the speaker wire for the center channel.

So, if you want to pull the L7 harness from a pick and pull, go for it.
Alternatively, save yourself the time and just cut out an L7 amp harness with a foot of wire and use some solder-seal connectors plus your dad's hifi harness and call it a day.

I am thinking about making this mod on my 2012 e92 since it looks like one could have the parts off ebay for a moderate price. Did you have any real difficulty installing the speakers on the rear deck, and is the speaker wire already there? I’ve heard varying opinions on whether or not the rear deck out need to swapped. Also are there any gotchas with getting the HU on the MOST ring? I currently have a CIC premium and HiFi sound. If the hardest part of this is going to be swapping speakers and some light coding I’m all in.

Unless someone gives you All the stuff free and you like big
complicated projects I can't see why anyone would do this
when you can have a much better aftermarket system if you
have some bucks to spend. And the Hi Fi system it's very easy
to add aftermarket amps, amp/dsps and speakers.
