Wow. That sure choked my stoke in a hurry. That doesn't even include possible install costs AND I would have to swap out my completely serviceable procede 2.5 (0% possibility I will ever run meth).

I thought I would be going for this as a no-brainer, but I guess I'll have to give it a miss.

BrianNM has been secretly testing a similar set-up for the past couple of weeks as well.

Any plans to rewrite firmware to give drivers the ability to see their ethanol content via gauge hijack? Wouldn't need it to be a permanent gauge, but maybe something like the stalk flick that shows gas/oil temp.

This could be useful when filling up at the pump and I don't think it'd be difficult to implement (could be wrong tho).

what happens if you need to remove your procede or desire to remove the proceed for troubleshooting? Will the car run ok with a reflashed DME and no Procede?

NVM...after reading the product description, it appears the stock functionality in the DME will remain, even after being edited by you guys.

I think the comparison needs to be people who are running e85/91,93 now and their numbers vs the new e85 package.

For almost $1,000 (Since I'd need to upgrade the 2.5 to 3) how much power would I really be gaining over using the current firmware and just running a 30/70 e85 mix without the fuel sensor.

I applaud the hard work but I really didn't expect it to be this much. I thought the fuel sensors were in the $150-200 range and then I was expecting a few hundred for markup. Can't justify gaining 20-30whp for $1,000.

Yes, there is always markup, but don't forget the extra hoses and fittings to plug the fuel sensor inline, the bracket to make it easy to install, and the wiring needed. That stuff adds up quickly.

For example, a brake pressure sensor for race data acquisition is about $150-200, but you then need the cabling, brake fittings, and mounting, which double that price when you include the labor to make it all custom (older cars like the ubiquitous E36 M3 track car don't have brake pressure sensors, or an easy plug-and-play system, requires custom everything). It costs enough that people who don't see the value in logging brake pressure as a driver training tool scoff at the price and never learn how to use the brakes more effectively, which cuts lap times significantly for the average experienced track junkie or racer. I'm putting one on an Aim data system on a very nice E36 M3 track car for one of my employees this weekend. He will then get a real pro driver at his next track event to cut some laps, get the data, and learn how to be faster. One important tool is seeing HOW they use the brakes, not just when and how fast they decelerate which can be seen by speed data.

The $900 flexfuel sensor/mounting/piping/wiring is expensive, yes, but for people who don't have the know-how or don't care to mess with tuning at a specific (assumed) E concentration can benefit by running any amount of ethanol - from zero to ???

And there may be more than just 20-30RWHP. For these cars where the first 50-80RWHP can be had for half that price, the next incremental upgrades are ALL about the same price or more for "just 20-30RHWP." Initial upgrades are the cheapest. Squeezing the last bit of power is where the price goes up and gains are less likely to be as impressive as the first. This is true for engines of all kinds.

Another question is: If I was on the COBB accessport lineup, how much would I have to pay to equal the horsepower gains offered with this tune?

Also, how does the flex fuel change the fuel efficiency? I'd assume efficiency should remain about the same under normal driving conditions under 100% 91 octane mix. It drops about 3 mpg or so with e85, right? (No problem, really, given how much cheaper e85 is)

Also, curses @ living in Mountain View, no e85 station that's public access until San Jose!
