2 weeks ago they had 2,000 cars show up...people were parking behind the building. Cops were there to help keep things running smoothly, but with so many people they shut it down. For now it's done, but they're apparently looking for a new lot to have it in. It was insane though that's for sure

Went by last nite since I was in the area, there were 6 cop cars actively patrolling and making sure nothing picked up. I even stopped and talked w/ a small group of people who came on bikes, police rolled right over and demanded we either we go into the Applebees or leave.

Unfortunate since these past 2 weeks it got a good turnout & now its cancelled.

What was the problem at Edgewater? Too many cars? If there are cops around but do nothing cant we just ignore them?

I heard Edgewater got fucked up because people were doing dumb shit like burnouts in the middle of rows full of cars + people. And b/c it's technically private property & the owners have filed a complaint, the police legally are granted permission to actively enforce the owner's demands. If it was public property we'd have the same problem because the police could kick you out for "loitering".

So it's a No-Win situation until someone finds another private lot.

honestly if someone does something at edgewater thats not on a thursday itll be fine just since the "thursday" night meets are so popularized, police are extra weary about them and the town hates it.

come by on a saturday/sunday night at 2am and there will still be 15-20 modded cars and people just chilling with no law enforcement bothering anymore.

plus i dont understand why we cant have like a bmw group just meet up at the movie theater in edgewater there? literally 300 parking spots no one uses and its 100 feet away from starbucks edge

Well not far from Applebees is Rt. 10 which is littered with monstrous parking lots -- Costco, Sports Authority, Dicks Sporting Goods, the Applebees on Rt 10, etc

dude, just on the turn out alone, and i hate to say it, the idea of a car group gtg would mean we would be kicked out faster than you can think.

Excellent point & the gates open at 8 AM on Sunday, which is about 3 hours earlier then I even consider getting up
