Hi, Has anyone bought an M3 replica bumper for their non M3 E92 in the UK?

Just after some opinions on suppliers and fitment, etc.

If your e92 is pre-LCI (2011) then you have plenty of options for M3 style bodyparts, pretty much every panel is available from one supplier or another. The prices vary by £100's depening on what materials you want to use (FRP, PP, duraflex etc.) and how particular you are about the fitment. Unless you have a very capable bodyshop nearby i would suggest paying the extra money and getting decent PP or duraflex parts from a reputable manufacturer, it's almost inevitable that you will be ultimately spend more than you initially save on parts in additional labour cost when the body shop have to rework your part to make it fit. Also keep in mind before buying anything that whatever you pay for the part is only the beginning, you will need to add a couple hundred ££ for paint and fit anyway.

Assuming this is front bumper you have a lot of options, the 1m bumper is available from prior design as either a straight swap or a widebody conversion, as is the regular m3 style.

in my experience this is a midrange-expensive brand but the fitment is good and the materials used are decent too. IMO I think they are probably the best 'bang for buck' in terms of quality, finish & fitment for the price.

There are many many other options available, Roy at CA auto has always been good to me and im sure he could find you a few options for a bumper, probably including one with fog lights in case you don't want to loose those (i don't see the point in keeping them though IMO).

Otherwise you can always head to ebay and play bumper roulette with the many taiwan manufacturers which is very risky but sometimes pays off, i have bought some fairly well made stuff from taiwan and also some garbage.

If you have an LCI car however dismiss all of the above as unfortunately the shape of your headlights means there is nothing developed yet which will fit your car only option is to pay silly money for something custom from LTMW or similar (1000's not 100's)

That E92 front end is awesome, i would love to see someone in the UK do this to a non-M. Its gonna cost over £1200 which is not cheap but considering the Arkym Lip is around $900 thats not to bad to be fair.

I have a pre LCi 335i SE, and I'm looking to do the 1M front bumper, M3 side skirts (already purchased) and M-Sport rear bumper (gives me options for exhaust because of lower insert).

If I order from PD, then it's about 790 euros shipped (£640), which I don't think is too bad.
I've not got to worry about paint as the car is being wrapped.
This has also helped me with sourcing the other parts as I've not had to be fussy about the colour they've come in.

Where are CA auto based out of interest?

Hi Andy,
Essex-Ish I believe. May be worth ordering through them rather than through prior direct as the prices are likely to be the same, sometimes even cheaper, and you have a UK contact if things go bad.

Also make sure you research the 1m bumper installation fully, see if anything needs cutting or trimming to fit it, your fogs will have to go, so there will be some labour involved there. Yes you will save money on paint but find out if you are going to be left with a car that you can easily put back to stock or of its a more permanent sort of mod.

If it were me I might also get my original bumper wrapped at the same time for a small extra cost, so if there's damage in the future you can swap back immediately rather than have the car off road while sourcing new parts.
