I can play this game too... prove it that mixing E is asking for trouble with actual real experience. Not hypothetical.

What part did you not understand? The part where I said I am ok with the added maintenance cost of fixing parts worn by using e85, or the part where I invited you to my garage to suck the e85 out of my car?

what part did I not understand..? all of it. the part where you fail to acknowledge the difference between the two and why one may cause more wear on your injectors then the other. If ethanol works for you, then great. but I've heard from more than one person who had personal experience with ethanol saying that it's not good for your fuel system. Ethanol is hygroscopic. fuel systems and your fuel injectors don't like water. ethanol burns at a far faster pace which increases wear on your injectors. does it not concern anyone that modern fuel systems are specifically designed to deal with negatives of using ethanol? that right there is a strong indicator that it's not meant to be in our fuel systems.

I understand that you shit on your car, are only concerned for maximum output and have no concern for the longevity of your motor, but those of us who care about our cars are best off simply using ethanol-free fuel.

I know that there are benefits to ethanol - and I'm not here to argue that. what I am trying to say is that there is a fuel that will cater to everyone's specific needs and this is what you seem to have so much trouble comprehending. I really can't make myself any more clear here.

SHUT THE FCK UP!
Everone has thier own reason why they run their car the way they do with the fuel they choose.

Further off-topic posts will be reported to a admin/moderator to be removed and ban request.

Sorry man, that's how things are around here. There are better places to get answers to technical type questions. This is where you come to buy used parts and get advice on why your mirror goes down when you put it in reverse. If my advice bothers you, get me banned. I obviously have a hard time ignoring these doofs. I am sorry though.

One of the main reasons I like ethanol is the water content cooling the charge and effectively raising knock resistance. I don't know that it would be so attractive as a fuel otherwise.

It isn't so much the water content this attributed to. The ethanol itself combusts at a lower temp thus cooling down the combustion chamber allowing more aggressive timing before before getting too close to detonation.

Also, needing more of it causes more cooling. It is a double win.

There is an interesting post about burn temperatures here;
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...-analysis.html

If i understand correctly; Yes ethanol burns cooler at the same power out but because we are usually pushing for maximum power, the engine eventually does run hotter.
I don't read anything about the amount of water in the ethanol and it's effect. It should bring down temperatures and up the knock resisstance. But is it worth to add some water to 100% ethanol (99% ethanol, 1% MEK as it turns out btw)

I would do water in a secondary injection system but I would not add it to my fuel tank on purpose
