Remove split screen

If I can remember correctly when I first got the car, the map would show on the entire screen or am I crazy? Right now I have the split screen but when I click over to the right screen and choose to turn it off, it just goes blank but still remains split. Is there a way of going back to full screen? I've been messing with it to no avail.

Somehow, some firmware update eliminated the option of full screen in 2008.

Well, I have a 2007 and since the day I bought my car it has always been a split screen. I think full screen option is only available on the newer iDrive starting MY2009.

That is how I understand it as well, which is why I asked what model year he had.

As far as I understand, the LCI is the first year with a full screen nav.

So far it seems that the full screen display -be of the map or just any other screen- was only an ED setting that once the car arrived in the USA was eliminated by MY2008. Other forum members also noticed that Progman 25 eliminated the full screen in the Entertaintment menu (the map was never displayed full screen in those cars).

I have X5 3.0d E70, model from 2009.
the navigation system in the begiining worked fine but i had issue a month ago with split screen.( working with 2009-1 dvd)
When i did the exit assist window , the navigation system would take up the full screen .

now i have only in the main screen which is about half the screen.
but the radio and the climate screen worked in full screen.
i complained to bmw and they did some upgrade..now it has gone worst ..forget the navigation screen even the radio screen works only in half screen.
upon enquiring they started to wonder if it ever worked in full screen in the first place.

so i need some proof for them that it worked...could any body out there..help me?..or anybody has a similar issue.
