Who can I trust to mount/balance my wheels? (socal)
I had a bad experience with a tire place I went to.
My wheels were damaged to the point where they needed to be repowdercoated. Now I have them back from the powdercoating guys and I'm afraid to let anyone touch them again! Who can I trust in the Orange County area to mount and balance my wheels? I was thinking Shoreline Motoring since it's around the block from me, but they want $30 a wheel which I think is rediculous... Any recommendations? Preferably in or around Huntington Beach.

Go see Donald @ Tire Central. He's in San Gabriel, so it may be a bit of a drive for you. But if you want someone you put complete confidence in and not worry about getting your wheels f'd... it will be worth the drive.
Also, call ahead and see if Donald can work on your wheels directly. You may have to cater a bit to his schedule, but that's what I do.

"Our Corghi Artiglio Master mounting machinery is highly automated, designed to ensure delicate handling of the finest wheels. The wheel is held only with rubber pads, no metal “fingers” that might mar its lip. It mounts and dismounts tires without the use of levers, prying, or physical effort applied by the operator. Our Coats XR 1800 wheel balancer not only allows weight to be installed behind the spoke for a neater appearance, it provides a printed sheet showing the balance work done. Even wheel damage, such as bends, can be characterized. John Bean V3D 3 ARAGO system measures wheel alignment without touching the vehicle or its wheels, allowing optimum accuracy in minimum time. You’ll spend less time waiting in our showroom, but you’re welcome to stick around if you like. You’ll never see a Shoreline Motoring technician tighten a wheel lug with an impact wrench. A torque wrench will be used - every car, every time." They charge 25 a wheel including new valve stems. |

$30 is a bit much. Pretty sure big o tire on edinger and beach will do it for $20.
What do you need mounted and balanced? |

Just a quick question as it sorta deals with this but would there be any shops that would be willing to do mounting tires, mounting onto the car, and balancing for free if one was to purchase the tires from them? I'm just wondering which option would be cheaper , buying the tires cheap on ebay and having a shop mount them for extra money or going through a vendor that would be able to supply the tires and mount them on, pretty much merge all the hassle of buying separately into a single day.
