I might post it later.. Just looked at it and not as big as I thought. About a quarter size dent with paint damage. I still imagine even if they do repair the panel and spray it would still be around 1k.

Might not be that expensive depending on the damage

On an $8k car you may as well do the paint repair yourself. It'll take a few hours but if you do it right it will be nearly unnoticeable.

Do I need power tools and a garage. Because I have no garage or the power tools. I have a feeling I would need to remove the shell to get the dent out.

Maybe, maybe not. Vinyl tends usually looks better though. IMO you should just get it repainted.. paint always looks best and has the best shine.

This is will be fourth panel that has been painted on my car. The car was crashed by the previous owner. The paint is pretty beat.

a quarter sized dent?...look into painless dent removal. Could be done for 100 or thereabouts. How bad is the pain damage? Some touch up, wet sanding, compounding and polishing could really make it much less noticeable. If its not all the way down to the primer, it can be repaired. Wont be perfect, but I'd rather do this than Plastidip it. I've seen some good, and some not so dood jobs; they always look worse than real paint.
Make the damn thing shine, and people wont even notice some of the defects haha

My last experience with a body shop I had a damaged hood. Instead of fixing it the guy was like I could fix it but it would not be worth my time. Id like to order a new hood and spray that. Quote was almost 7k
Probably cheaper for a shop to replace the whole door instead of filling in the dent and sanding the entire door to paint. Door shells are about the same cost as the labor hours to properly fix your dent. Better to have a guy working on a $7K insurance job than filling in your dent. Time is money.

A new door shell would still need to be painted to blend with the rest of the paint.. yeah 7k into a hood on a car worth 12k. Makes sense. No wonder I just just throw cars away instead of getting them repaired.

If the dent isnt too bad try having the dent repaired and have the panel repainted. Might work out cheaper than plasti-dipping the whole car.

I would recommend talking to a painless dent removal specialist. They would come out and do a free estimate. Will tell you if you actually need a new body panel.

Do you mean having the patinless dent repair person just pop out the dent and have it painted somewhere else?

I guess the dent less repair people are cheaper than body shop?

Yes. Spot repair could be an option too for the paint. Wont be flawless, but better than naked bodywork showing.

Paintless dent repairs are pretty cheap. Ranging from $70 to $150 for popping a dent.

Yeah I don't mind if its not perfect just don't want to pay pay out 1k..

Just checked some spot repair places and it might only cost 2-300. Much better than 1k +.. Thanks great idea!!!

In my experience, Dipped cars look good for a couple weeks or so if they get very little mileage and arent exposed to the elements. After that, you will start to see blemishes and 6 months down the road, you are redoing major portions of it.

And if you daily drive your car, I'm willing to bet your front bumper will be peeling within a month from road debris.

WRONG WRONG and WRONG. if plasti dip is done correct non of that will happen. its how you execute the product itself.

my coupe was dipped now changing to a red color

this is my other car the Audi & my homies car which he changed colors to high satin gray

wheels,mirror caps, calipers all dipped

how to print screen on pc

a lot of false info here

if its done right its super smooth.

using a better sprayer also helps. people really have so many negative comments for plastic dip lol

for the record, i have seen more bad vinyl jobs than bad dip jobs. people on this forum follow one another comment saying this is bad blah blah

stop hatting on the product if you can't execute it right. or haven't worked with it.

a vinyl job requires more material its also more expensive & you have to take many of the cars pieces apart.

Dip has evolved. mimics any high gloss paint out there.

for people who don't know go check out dip your cars youtube channel and as well as their webpage.
