Remnants of debadging

I used dental floss and goo gone to remove it, and all the glue came off fine. However, there is still a dark outline where it was. Any ideas on how to get this off?

Goo gone and finger. Maybe a good rag.

The paint isn't messed up from removing it? It just looks like a stain, and I rubbed the crap out of it with goo gone and a rag.

Need to polish it. Get a detailer to fix it up or read online and get the products and it yourself. Might need a buffer and stuff though.

Agreed...you need to polish. When I debadged the door emblems on my 08 X5 (recently sold), I used floss and Goo Gone on driver side and noticed significant scratches and etching (paint was Black Sapphire), and I was using a quality microfiber. On the passenger side, I decided to try Tarminator instead of Goo Gone. Tarminator worked just as well if not better, and it did much less damage to the paint. I don't know why Goo Gone seemed to be so much more damaging to the paint than Tarminator because I used about the same amount of pressure/effort on each side. I polished both sides but I only had to use white pad w/Menzerna 106ff on the passenger side, whereas I had to go up to orange pad and (Menzerna) SIP to get all the Goo Gone etching out on the driver side.

Anyway, if you used goo gone then just use good lights and look carefully to make sure that you are aggressive enough in your correction. And don't worry because any scratches that show up are fixable. Hope that helps...
