Got to be the Sub for me, I prefer the dateless sub or the sea dweller, but know they are not as sort after.
I really like the Explorer II the most of all the Rolex's though.

My favourite watch is my Glycine Airman 2000, I wear it all the time and it's a bit different....

I think i will be buying a couple more in 09 proberbly another ss daytona but white dial and if they bring out a pepsi gmt 2 c in Basel 09 one of them as well.

Understand you cant drive it but one thing i do know is if i buy at the right price i can sell it and lose just about nothing on the deal.

IMHO if you can pick a Rolex sports model up with 20% off list you cant go wrong .

Rolex Steel Sub Mariner is my fave - im actually looking for one at the moment and cant decide whether its worth getting a pre-owned model and saving some money or buying a nice fresh new one?? Anyone got any tips on best place to buy one with some good savings??? As i say, happy to buy pre-owned provided its mint.

Hi Steve

Love your collection .I have had nearly all those models in your box well five of them .I love the pepsi gmt ,I spend a lot of time on www.rolexforum.com its so informative .

I am hoping at Basel 09 there may be something new like a pepsi ceramic bezel for the GMT 116710 ,I have been holding back from buying the latest gmt with the black bezel as it is to similar to my 16610lv that i have fitted a black bezel on its unique with its fat hands and maxi dial and black bezel ,i still have the green bezel so i can mix it up .

My first rolex was a subdate in 1993 still have it and its worn daily by my father he loves it and i will have it back when he pops his clogs it will be a vintage watch buy then.Second was TTsub date bluesy .Then i went ss daytona mad had about ten and always had to sell them as the oppotunity to make £2k was just to tempting (greed) i always told my wife id keep the next one that came along check out the market place get some serious offer and sell it ,Bought Ym /gmt /explorers 1 and 2/subdate/seadwellers /alongthe way as daily wearers ,Then we went to Bournmouth and my wife saw a ring she liked £7500 and we went in she looked at the ring and i said i see you sell Rolex would you have a ss daytona anywhere the guy said buy the ring and you can have the daytona at list £3670 so the deal was done .My wife said i will pay for you Daytona and it isnt to be sold its a present from her 2005 xmas ,Anyway i was in town recently and thought i would have it serviced so went in my AD and asked about the time frame 12 /16 weeks for RSC to turn them round so i said well change the dial from white to black as well then. They then said they were having some issues with buyers declining watches they had on order would i be interested in a new one YES so three weeks later they called me four clients had passed on the offer of a ss daytona at list price due to current economic climate ,so did i want it of course i did and his only condition was it was gone from his safe that week before the end of the month .I sold the 3 year old white dial for £100 less than the new replacement cool cheaper than a rsc service on the old one .

The 3 year old 2005 model 116520 white dial cost me £3670 sold her for £5350 ,The new 2008 model 116520 cost me £5450 ,As you can see nearly 2k in price increases in 3 years and due to the weakness in gbp there will be more and in my opinion Rolex will put prices up despite the credit crunch

A Rolex will last you a life time .I have a 1989 date just that cost £1650 i was offerd £1750 for it at the start of dec .Its been worn every day by my FIL and just replaced it with a new one .He has given it to my son who is 14 as he has a interest in watches never been serviced and still works it does loose a little time but i will get it in to Rolex sc in the new year and she will run for another 20 years .

My girl just got me my first watch..Orient Star make.....Its big in Japan, and her being Japanese, it was only fitting.

First automatic watch too. Im 26 and just getting into these things. For some reason I was never a Rolex/Omega/Breitling fan....everyone wears one around here, and they sell them at practically every store. As for mine, they only have one retailer, and its out in LA, and it took me forever to find a place that has had experience with this watch (ironically it was the place I have been taking my other watches to for years).

I prefer to have the type of watch that no one has...ever since I was young I had a knack for being different (no homo)
