Not sure it is "too good to be true". The MSRP for that configuration is around $43,500 so $40,750 for a used (titled) 335i coupe is probably not that great of a deal since it is only about $2,750 off sticker. You could probably get close to that for a brand new one.

anyone else notice that the car was taken at Harms' drop off place in Germany? Obviously he did European Delivery for that car and is selling it for even more than what the car costed..

Are you sure? If the pictures were taken there then why is the front license that is blocked out looking like a US plate and not a Euro one? The Euro ones are a lot longer right?

It's not blocked out. THat's just what the license plate holder looks like.

Here's a picture of John (snareman) that was taken by his friend JOhn (daytona john) on their ED. Notice the background buildings.

Well, I take back my comment then. I didn't go through and configure it to see the MSRP. Hmmm, $40K, not too bad.

THe seller is pretty smart. I hope no one reading this is thinking about buying that car because this might ruin it for the seller.

You can buy that car for less than $40k out the door BRAND NEW with ED!!

Ah ok. Even though it was an ED The seller still had to spring for a ticket and whatever other expenses to do the ED so in the end even if he gets 40k for it he is still losing some money. An ED price for that car was probably around 39k ish.

I only spent about $750 for hotel, flight, and food for my weekend in Europe, factor in the $500 CCA rebate and it is only $250 .

Whether he is profiting depends on who ends up paying tax. Since he originally paid tax the car would US MSRP (including 8.25% tax) to something like $46,500. Although, from the pictures its quite obvious he did infact do European Delivery, so assuming he paid $1000 over invoice, it is something like $40,700 (including 8.25% tax). Not surprising, that is pretty much what he is asking for it.

So, he is not making a single penny off it, but he also is not losing a penny. He basically got a free rental car while visiting Europe, but based off the mileage it does not sound like he did much visiting?!?!?

ALTHOUGH, if this dude is expecting to charge tax on the sale, then he is making out like a bandit, and basically got a free trip to Europe (and likely a bit of pocket change).

I agree with you.... This is a very good deal especially for someone who wants the car now and does not want to wait.....

In CA the buyer will have to pay tax on this car again which means the original owner is actually loosing the $$$ he spent on taxes. I am sure by the time all said and done this car cost him over $42K w/ taxes & stuff....

So, this is a good deal for someone who wants a 6M AW right now....

I've seen this add several times on CraigsList, my gut instinct tells me something is not right. I am sure he wants to unload the car however its possible that the car is still in transit - why not have a picture of it in his driveway? Also, he might be a returning GI - Military who get additional discounts.

You cannot get any more discounts as a service member with ED. You either do ED or pentagon car sales, not both. One could get the car shipped for free as a service member provided they shipped a car over and sold it. The only other discount would be to register the car in a state that does not tax autos like SC.

you guys probably won't belive it.
but i just test drove it (well not me, my friend) yesterday.

car was real nice except the fact that the front bumper has a half inch hole .
n the interior was super boring... beigh n wood trim.. too dull for a sport car.
im having doubts.. does it really worth 40k?
also the milage is nto 250!!!!!!!! its 900 now...

what offer shud i throw at him?

+1
THe trim swap and the fix should be <$1k, therefore, $38k should be OK.
Tell him $37.5, will buy now!
