More remap questions to those with one.

1) Is the rev limit raised?

2) With the 6pot denzil already being really smooth and quite linier, what other benefits can I excpect other than more power/torque and more effeciency. For example, will it do anything to reduce turbo lag?
This is a classic example of when you need a girlfriend. Your wife will assume you have gone to see your girlfriend.

You girlfriend will assume you are spending the day with your wife.

You are then free to work on your car without being bothered.

How do you find your 330d? I find it's a bit anemic below 1700rpm. 2000-3000rpm seems to be the sweet spot.

To be honest, once the turbo comes in, it pulls really smoothly, with no let off until the limiter. It's an amazing engine really.

I'd like to try a remaped MT 330d LCI.

Mine is in the Stealers tomorrow for a a problem with a thermostat sticking open, lets see if they find it!
How did you get on at the dealers?

I'm just looking into insurance at the moment, only done one quote and it added £200 to the policy which is quite steep. Do you mind me asking what it added to your policy?

Dealers didn't notice the map but i think they have over written it! Will at P-Torque is going to reinstall it for me.

Insurance!

I am with Privilege and policy was due for renewal. So remap and tiny rear lip spoiler:-

Std Car = £786..........£400 XS

With Mods £1505..............£900 XS, Shame on you Privilege

To put that in context i am 42, car garaged at night and 8 years NCB!!!!!!

Managed to get it down to about £1050 so far but will talk to Chris Nott tomorrow.

Oh, that sucks.

I wonder if the wiping of maps is common when going to the dealer? Do you think they do it as a standard part of a diagnostic process to eliminate the software as a cause of a problem?

P-torque isn't that close to me so I don't really want to be having to go back up there.

Insurance : this seems to be quite a big stumbling block. Posts from a few years ago seem to be saying that the premium will go up by £50-£100, but now it seems a lot more. I need to get some more quotes, but on the LV site, the map increased the price by £200, but I didn't check the excess (probably gone up too).

If we're talking £200 more, then I'll have to think very hard about it. Then there's the reduced number of places that will actually insure you.

Spoke to the wife about it, she didn't seem to bothered but did raise the insurance as the main problem, which it looks like it will be.

I'll get on to confused.com later and see what's what.

Got the insurance down to £985 with Chris Nott so much better

so about £200 more than standard. Still not sure if the remap has gone or just adapted and "calmed down"

So you get that used to the new level of power that you start wondering if the map is still there!

I suppose its the same with anything, you get used to it and end up wanting more
