Electric Hummer Demonstrators Have Arrived!

We are the official exclusive retailers of the new MEV Electric HUMMER HX and HX-T here in the UK. We basically go head to head with the likes of G-Wiz, Mega City, Nice car etc etc. We dont compete with the big boys like the Nissan Leaf etc and we are not going to set the world alight. That said it does bring the fun element back to inner city driving and the chore of the daily commute. The Electric Hummer is fully licensed GM product but it has been designed and built by a team of British designgers and engineers. It is 100% electric, fully road legal, NO congestion charge, NO road tax, FREE parking, only group 1 insurance, zero emissions and no petrol/diesel costs, costs around 2p per mile to run, tax incentives for businesses, perfect street level marketing tool for any business with our vinyl wrap package and blah, blah, blah!!

These were some articles recently written about the Electric Hummer - some of the facts are wrong - typical bloody journo's - but you get the gist!!

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...umplugged.html

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...footprint.html

The Green vehicle is the HX-T (soft top model) and costs £10,995 plus VAT and the White vehicle is the HX and costs £11,995 plus VAT. The wrapped HX is a prototype and was the first vehicle ever produced.

If anyone fancies a test drive and a look around the vehicles then please PM or email me!

Did you really expect much else of car enthusiast forum? personally I can't see the point of them, any of them. Nothing personal. Sorry if it wasn’t the reply you was hoping for.

I'm guessing that the idea of these is as a promotional-type of thing rather than a vehicle that you would use every day.

look quite funky, appears to be trying abit too hard to "butch" up the electric car market.

I keep thinking its an ace kids car. Need some more photos to better understand the size of one of these vs said normal car.

Think you should post a vid of it bombing about town etc. bet it will go down well with some rich city/yuppy teens who can afford to buy new, need insurance group 1, are eco minded but want to look alittle less girly in an electic car

Best of luck with the venture, its certainly interesting. I'll be keeping my 335d mind

Glad things are going well with the new company! They look pretty cool, far cooler than the competition.

Have you sold many so far mate?!

Hope to hook up soon

What sort of speed do these achieve???

'funky' does seem to be the best word to describe these. You'd have to be either fairly eccentric or a bit 'look-at-me' to own one surely but the planet is full of them.

As an advertising medium I think it's brilliant and loads of small shops would probably relish the idea of a permanent travelling banner.

Think I'll keep the Zed but might suggest my business partner trades in his boring A4 for one (he keeps saying he's going to get a city-car ). At least between us we'd combine to reach mild-tree-hugging status .

Good luck with it Steve.

Tech spec steve? Range? etc?

I think they look like a laugh! And the idea of driving a humvee past the CC cameras every day is appealing. I'm sure there's a market for them..

Hard to get a view of how big they are without somebody standing next to them

I know how hard a start-up is - so good luck!

Well, assuming Stevie didn't take the shots in Toy Town you can get some idea of size as comparison to the door in the background .

Hey Steve,

I think it's fantastic that you're doing this. Most people don't have the balls to start a company or franchise, and I have respect for anyone that does. It's also about time someone gave the current electric city cars a run for their dowdy looks and down at heel styling and the HX and HX-T look like they may do that.

I'm regularly in Marylebone, so will give you a bell and come and say Hello.

Cheers
Matt

Not my cupa, especially up here where there's no such thing as a "city car". In saying that I'm sure they will go down a storm with certain types. I'm thinking people like that Jordan women, the kind of folk that go on Big Brother etc will all think these are the shit (as they say). Be good if you could somehow get them on that TOWIE show or perhaps get one of those sort of famous for doing nothing folk seen in one to build the brand as a fashion must have.

It sounds like you're pushing more to the business sector but I'm not entirely convinced on them as a business promo with the wrapping. The large wheels and smaller body panels don't leave much advertising real estate plus most businesses are on their arse at the moment.

Either way I wish you the best of luck and every success with this venture.

Cool little electric car if you ask me, wish you all the best with it Steve.

Problem you will have is most of the people on here live in areas where this sort of thing is seen as blingy rather than 'a bit of fun'.
I am in Norfolk and it is the same here.

Own one? Never. But.... They actually look like I imagine electric cars should - like fun.

There seems little point in them being too serious at the mo for all the usual range reasons etc. These things look like a laugh on a rent and return basis or similar.

In any case, I wish you luck.

I can see the attraction for driving round London and for the southerners with more money than sense but for the majority its very expensive.

That said I wish you well and am sure you will make a success of your new venture. I can imagine that they would be a big hit in Ibiza and other summer Brit destinations.

Good luck Steve

I like the white one, and if i lived and drove in london and had an estate agency or something id probbably buy one, and advterise my business on it, you can probbaly write the whole thing off after year one. id sell it to myself or friend for a quid then punt it on autotrader and pocket the cash each year again and again.

I do think its pricey however its target audience in london can/should be able to afford it.

Id like to see it in a rap video as that would be cool, i think mofo ideas of getting a high profile celeb init has mileage.

Steve a few questions?

1 what is the range compared to a g wiz
2 how many do you aim to sell eash year

have you had a shag in one yet

good luck kiddo i hope you make a real go of it.

Steve
