RIP Steve Jobs
Steve has died. An inspiration to us all irrespective of which side of the fence you\'re on.
Just goes to show all the money in the world cannot buy you good health, that bastard big C..

His speech at Stanford University
No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life’s change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true. Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. - Steve Jobs

Indeed a great man. I'm old enough to remember the first Apple Computers which was a fantastic achievment.

Both he and his company’s achievements will be with us for some time. I find it humbling that with all his money and fame, he still couldn't buy good health. Enjoy it while you can everyone.

Sad news indeed.
But his money and treatment did extend his life after diagnosis a lot longer than normally expected. D.

Yes,very sad news-will be interesting to see how his legacy lives on.
As mentioned above, the big C is such a scary disease- I wonder if we will ever see it totally wiped out? |

I still have a 1st gen ipod at home.. i remember showing my dad this little machine about the size of a cassette that could hold so much music.
I was actually stunned when i clicked open BBC this morning and saw the story - just felt that someone rather special had passed. What i dont get is that he never gave away any of his money publicly like Bill Gates does. Im sure he must somewhere but just did it quietly so not to gain any publicity. The big C ... what a bitch. RIP

There will always be the people the hate Apple, but no one can deny that Steve Jobs was an inspiration to us all.
As Obama said: "Steve was among the greatest of American innovators - brave enough to think differently, bold enough to believe he could change the world, and talented enough to do it". There's also the wonder of Pixar. Sadly though, I feel that Apple may now deteriorate. Tim Cook just isn't Jobs - he doesn't seem to think outside the box like jobs did, or have the ambition to do things that others daren't try! Well see... R.I.P Steve |
