We're caught in the trap of dealer history, perpetuating the rip off.
Paying OTT prices for run of the mill/poor/arrogant service ONLY to fund glamorous shiny dealerships and their corporate monkeys, with no real benefit to us except a perceived one that increases resale values amongst a majority that don't know / can't assess any better. Its a CAR FFS! they need less maintenance now than they've ever needed. As long as you have the correct software (as forced by EU regs) any competent garage can do anything. Bar the computer bit, cars are the same now as they've been for 50 years or more. These days the maintenance philosophy is based on following the computer and changing parts till the fault goes away, all intelligence gone. My car has NEVER been serviced, from new, by a dealer except some warranty work which they insist on. If its got a good history, by any decent indy, then go for it Last edited by doughboy; 03-26-2011 at 05:42 PM.. |
