I hadn't washed my car for about three weeks due to work, but yesterday morning was nice and I did it before the sun came into full view. Just beautiful today ...

Hey, Do any of you guys know if the dealer will replace the Hvac air filter for free? I'm taking my car to the dealer tomorrow and its still under warranty. I'm in the process of removing my JB4 and I took a look at the filter and it looks awful and real dirty. wondering if while my car is in there they should replace the filter.

anyone put their winter tires on yet? I'm starting to think about it. It's supposed to be HIGH of 42 on thursday and possibly snow! Anything below 45 is not good for summer tires I've read. I usually wait until Thanksgiving but I think this year I might do it earlier

What catless down pipes should I get for a 2008 335xi. AR makes once specifically for the all wheel, anyone have any input. I kinda have a ich to use the stage 2 cobb and I feel like I am not fast enough yet.

Not yet, however I am going to be buying them VERY soon. I am almost set on Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....inter+Sport+3D
They get very good feedback around here.

Bridgestone Blizzak RM-70s are also on my list.

I have an AR 4" catless, the quality is amazing and it sounds fantastic. AR = guaranteed fitment.
Also look at Active Autowerkes downpipes ... excellent quality. Not sure about the pricing on them however.

I'm traveling again this week - while I did not get a BMW 335 for a rental car, my hotel room # is 335. How something so stupid made me smile for like a half hour ... haha.

Agreed, those are solid numbers for an xi. I have been on mikes dyno earlier this year. I did not run this past friday, was having too much fun drinking beers

Here's my clean E92.

I have been working on winterizing it for a few days now, doing one or two panels a day and taking my time. Still a work in progress - but most of the exterior is done! Door sills, exhaust, wheels, are next on the list.

I used ONR first, then fine grade clay, Chemical Guys EZ Creme glaze, and finally Blackfire Wet Diamond Sealant. Results are as good as I can manage. I even put the BFWD on the window glass, it's awesome. Hardly anything came off with the clay, even under the side skirts ... nothing. BFWD has been on this car since I drove it home with 6 miles on the ODO in March, and I don't have a garage. It works very well at keeping the paint protected.

I plan to do some light polishing in the coming weeks on a few areas, Mike/autoaesthetica -www.detailwny.com - is setting me up with some products. I recommend any of you guys take your car to him for detailing. If I lived closer, my car would be there right now (I do what I can on my own with this car, but I'd like to see what a true professional can do with her ).

I really appreciate it Charles. Its not really fair that guys like you and Hasek9339 take such good care of your vehicles but its greatly appreciated nonetheless. Your car looks amazing.

The other day I was talking with a detail customer here and I really have been considering literally making a banner that says something along the lines of:

"Your X year old vehicle should not look X years old."

I feel bad almost for the cars when I know it only takes a couple visits a year to keep a 2005 looking like 2005 in the year 2011. As long as its done right, and that's the key. Done right, not just done to say it was done. But I think that's a serious reality check for some.

Treat them right fellas and gals, winter is coming. Youre changing fluids, wipers and tires for a reason, don't neglect the rest of the vehicle.

I hear ya Mike ... a little bit of self-education goes a long way, people should leave car detailing to people that understand the dos and don'ts. I tell most people they are better off not washing their car at all ... they will just end up damaging the paint unless it is done using the proper technique.
Really, why do something if you're not going to bother understanding the basics. Do it right or don't do it at all - the first time, not the second.

Anyways, why is this thread so boring, what is the matter with you guys

Here's something to liven it up - my new mod:

I agree that this thread is boring other than me and CJ421( Charles) and Autoaesthetica (Mike) this thread dissent get any action!

I'm lining up a detail with Auto Aesthetica before my baby goes away for the winter! I'll take some pictures when I'm done!

This is sick! looks awesome.

The latest news with my e90 is me trying to get my turbos replaced before the warranty is up on the 26th! Doesn't look like its going to happen
Also the car just hit 40k. so sad. I love the warm weather more time in the fast car rather then the good old winter beater 4 cyl.
