Took mine in on Saturday had some bad rattle and they're replacing the whole turbo assembly. Driving a loaner really blows

I took this clip with my gopro the day before the dealer replaced both my turbos, hopefully it helps someone that isn't sure about the problem..

Wow, that sound is worse than fingernails on a chalk board!

On an offtopic note, the chime in my 2007 is not nearly as pretty sounding.

Also before I left I turned in my loaner and they showed me the progress with my engine out! So for those of you that think this should be fixed no matter what, think again. The dealers can take huge hit on this if BMW decides not to cover this under warranty and my dealer was extremely hesitant at first to even proceed.
Wait, what? They pulled your engine to replace the turbos?... I thought they just dropped the sub-frame... My engine didn't come out when my new turbos went in.

The engine should not come off when you replace the turbos. Something else could have been wrong.
It blows that the same car with the same problem is not covered in Canada.
it BLOWS..

When I went back with the SA, he got my info, and told me they were going to send it in to BMW for approval.

Question is, if does get "approved", aside from the obvious removal of my chip, do I even need to bother with the DP's and intercooler? I'd hate to go through the time and expense just to be jerked around, as some other members here have been.

Someone who used to work there suggested I might slip them a couple hundred extra for the "inconvenience of dealing with the extra parts." He offered to call them for me post approval since he knows people there still. (hes an independant now)
What was the verdict? My rattle repair was previously denied because of a tune that I didn't have. Fuckers.

They replaced them. However, the news ones are failing. (not wastegate issues, but are not holding boost/ making a siren sound)

Denied for a tune you didn't have? What did they say, what evidence did they point to?

There was nothing else repaired, just turbos. My father who is a mechanic looked it up the process with some of his resources and it also called for removal of the engine, 19-21 hour job.

Did they change the oil after they installed the new turbos? my dealer did one at my request. I'm not sure if it's a vital thing to do but I read somewhere to do an oil change after replacing turbos.

Not sure if this has been answered, but does have a section 3 only aftermarket exhaust constitute as "modifications to the turbo/wastegate"?

I'll be taking mine in soon. Here is a video I took when re-installing factory down-pipes.

I took mine in today to get looked at. The tech came out and said that he was pretty certain it was the wastegate. My only concern is that if for some reason BMW denies my claim, I'm stuck with a 3k labor bill. The dealership had previously found a jb3 on it but the service manager said that wouldn't be a problem. I have until Monday to decide what to do. What would you guys do?

New user here, been lurking for a while now...

My e90 with 82.5k miles is throwing a 30FF fault code (low boost). Took it in, dealer said $5100 to replace the turbos. I showed them this warranty bulletin and said they couldn't help since it's over mileage (they didn't even know about the bulletin before hand). Called BMW NA and they said the same thing... They are being sticklers on the 82k limit.

Still fighting BMW NA but I've pretty much lost hope that they are going to help me out. Sucks that 500 miles is all that stood between new turbos for free and new turbos for $3-5k.

This doesnt throw codes? They can't tell? Wouldnt that stuff (mods) void the warranty?
