GF picked up a GLK350 last night

Snagged it from HBL Mercedes in Tysons - got what I think is a great price. I had been shopping around to 5 different dealers and negotiating for weeks trying to find the right one with the right options. Got all the financing together, arranged all the test drives, etc.

We showed up late (just after they closed at 8), and the guy had it ready to go, cleaned up and all the paperwork already filled out. My GF signed, got the keys and we were out the door in 37 minutes. She goes "man, that was really easy."

Sigh.

Pretty nice car though. We've been shopping around for a while - and she just had to have an SUV. I tried talking her into a 1 series, but no dice.

37 minutes? Holy shit. I've always gone into the dealer knowing exactly what I want, and I've never been in and out that quick.

I bet showing up after they had closed helped a bit.

Ha ha - you bet it did. We would've been out of there in 20 if the finance guy wasn't trying to talk her into a wheel protection package, extended warranty, lo-jack, scotcguarding, etc etc etc...

$36,900 - a little bit more than 10% off of sticker. It's 4matic, has the P01 premium package, heated seats, panorama roof, and an iPod adapter.

Thanks - yup, got it. That's one of the coolest options I think. That and the rear auto lift tailgate.

Ha ha. It's definitely polarizing. Some people really hate it. But it is certainly a chick car...

but, all them at our dealerships have either

a)too many options

Also, rear passenger space is a little small for us

But great car!!!

It's probably what a Jeep would have been if someone had given the care and attention the brand deserved.
